Intro to Pure Data | InterAccess

Intro to Pure Data | InterAccess | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
Learn the Basics or Pure Data (Pd), a free, Open Source environment specifically designed to help artists, musicians and other creators make things that react to what's going on around them. Learn how to make simple reactive video artworks, and how to connect your pieces to the real world by connecting Pure Data to an Arduino. In part 1 (Think in Pd) of this two part workshop we'll learn the basics of working in Pd by creating one or two simple reactive video artworks. The following week, we'll apply what we learned to working with or physical sensors and outputs. By the end of this workshop, you should have the basic tools to allow you to create your own work, as well as an understanding of how to translate a problem or question into a solution using Pd. Dates: Tuesday November 13 and 20 Time: 7-10pm Registration Fee:  Annual Studio or Workshop Pass Discount $90 Regular Price $120 What, if any, prerequisite knowledge should students have? No experience is necessary. We'll be doing some math, but nothing too hard. What to Bring: Please bring a laptop with Pure Data installed: https://puredata.info/downloads About the Instructor: Dafydd Hughes is a musician, artist, programmer and educator based in Toronto, Canada. He has performed and recorded with some of Canada’s most notable artists, including Feist, Esthero, Chantal Kreviazuk and Raine Maida. He is active in Canada’s jazz, pop and experimental music scenes through solo work and various collaborations. His work, both musical and visual, playfully explores the unpredictable intersection of analog and digital experiences of the world. Questions? If you have any questions about the workshop or special requirements, please contact us at education@interaccess.org. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy: We are unable to accommodate attendee cancellations or refunds less than 1 week prior to a workshop or event. pi 3 - Broken MicroSD slot on Raspberry Pi 3

pi 3 - Broken MicroSD slot on Raspberry Pi 3 | Raspberry Pi | Scoop.it
Yesterday, my Raspberry Pi 3 didn't boot, and the problem was in the micro SD slot. If I just plug power, only the red LED lights up and stays solid. But if I also press on the card, the Pi boots and all goes well. So, there was no contact with the SD card, as the cover didn't hold it good enough. As a hot fix, I used a little pin to stick it there, and it worked. But the pin doesn't look good, so I decided to find out what's the cause of that. The problem, as I thought, was in one of soldering pads falling off the board (the one near the J9 label). So, I soldered it: Okay, there is nothing good about my soldering, but there was nothing wrong touched (I still hope so...). But the Pi still didn't boot, with or without the pin. After an hour of trying and retrying to get the Pi working, I ended up with this: I'm sure I can still solder the cover back, but the Pi still doesn't boot, no matter how I try to press the SD card. I have that nasty solid red led and nothing else. Can this be repaired? pi-3 sd-card tlhIngan 3,08441432 asked Mar 9 '17 at 14:25 Sergobot 1815 show 1 more comment 2 Answers active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote accepted Same problem here, but i alredy figure it out. The problem is there is 2 pin mecanism soldered in the uper right side of the card slot that contact when the card is inserted like some sort of safety mecanism or something. When the metal cover lifted one of the mecanism is detached causing the mecanism to not work. You need to do some micro soldering to the detached pin, the pin is ridiculously small so good luck. I end up broke mine while doing so. I dont know where to find that type of m sd card slot, if anyone know where to find it let me know. shareimprove this answer answered Aug 24 '17 at 2:38 Mr.X 462 add a comment up vote 0 down vote I ran into the same symptoms as described. I was certain there was a problem with the pins (I pulled the rpi out of a case without removing the sd card). After a lot of trial and failure I decided to check my microsd card to find it was dead. I'm not sure what killed it but my mac wouldn't read it. I install the noobs lite installer on another microsd card I had around the the rpi booted right up. shareimprove this answer answered Dec 10 '17 at 5:03 Eric 1 add a comment protected by goldilocks♦ yesterday Thank you for your interest in this question.
