This article states that most teenagers are NOT having safe sex. I think this may be avoided if they are more aware of contraceptives. Also, I think that teenagers should enquire about contraceptive BEFORE they are sexually active, NOT 12 months after. Again, this website is government-run and Australian.

Binge drinking is associated with mental health disorders and teenagers who binge drink in highschool are more likely to binge drink in college. Teenage binge drinking can also lead to brain damage. I think this is extremely dangerous and I am alarmed because many teenagers are starting to binge drink.

This article shows that less teenagers are giving birth than in the 1970s. It also states that over one quarter of Year 10 students and over half of Year 12 students have had sexual intercourse. I think this may be because the wider availability and wider range of contraception. Contraception is much more readily available these days and this may be leading to the higher number of sexually active students. I think this is relevant to our topic because it shows that some people don't use contraception even though they know this may lead to pregnancy.

Young teenagers and young children are now being questioned about their sexual lives.. This suggests that teenagers are being more sexually active and I think that they should probably be more educated about contraception. Free contraception may be a good resolution as young teenagers are not able to purchase their own.

Abstinence isn't going to help reduce teenage pregnancy because people will just be more curious. I think that teenagers should be more aware of contraception as it will help reduce teenage pregancy. Many people with unintended or unwanted pregancies do not have a very good knowledge about contraception.

Researchers in Dalhousie have found that couples can influence each other's binge drinking habits. It also tells us that regular binge drinking in university can lead to alcoholicism as an adult. I think this is very dangerous and people should be careful of who they are hanging out with.
