There are simply not enough places at these few schools for all the students with perfect grades and perfect scores. Which brings me to Kwasi's essay, what it reveals about him, and what it reveals about what top schools seem to be looking for....

Kwasi Enin was accepted into all eight ivy league schools. This article examines the second paragraph of his application essay, which talks about his musical carrer. Other than having a high GPA and SAT score, Enin was an avid particpant in his musical community. Many speculate that this essay may have drasitcally affected the way the schools veiwed his application. This shows aspiring university matriculants that a well-written essay about a personal topic is evidently veiwed in a positive light.

Learn what college admissions officers really look for in a high school student.

This article describes what colleges look for in high school students. Courseload, GPA, test scores, extracurricular, communitry service, work, the application essay, and letters of reccomendation/awards attained are all emphasised in the application process. I never knew that all these aspects of a student were considered until reading this article. I now know that I need to get a job, keep up my GPA and extracurricular activites if I would like to go attend Western Washington University or the University of Washington next Fall. A most enlightening article.

By examining this graph, I can determine the likelyhood of being accepted at Western Washington University. My past performance places me in the third column, and fourth row. When examining the graph, it is evident that I will be accepted based off of these statisitcs. Considering that I participate in mulitple extracurricular activities, I assume that I will be a matriculant of Western Washington University come Fall 2015.
