State Farm seeking community solutions through social media

State Farm Insurance Cos. is launching Cause An Effect, a $1 million program that will seek 40 such ideas from people via social media and put $25,000 grants in the hands of nonprofit groups to put them into effect. From today through March 20, consumers can visit the State Farm Facebook page to submit ideas for projects. Starting in April, the public will be able to vote to narrow 100 finalists to the 40 projects that will be funded.
