I've read recently that "Google teamed up with market research organization Ipsos OTX to conduct an online survey of 1500 holiday consumers. What they found was that the borders between online and offline shopping are disappearing."

 

This is not news anymore and not surprising for most of us. What is more interesting to research is how B2B buyers (such in the Telecom market) use the internet as part of the buying process. In the past the common thought was that what is relevant in the consumer 'shopping' experience is not relevant to the more serious world of the business arena. However - people are people - and as they get used to some behavior which is easier and simpler (Internet research) - and available - they (we !) tend to use it also in the work place. So while the actual buying is not done on-line, longer part of the buying process is spent online. This is a reason for many B2B businesses to invest more in their online presence.
