I'm glad someone actually realised that a chance at education can actually be the start to ending poverty situations in many areas. Without the chance at education, the poor would continue to not be educated and therefore be unable to find jobs and thus continue to suffer.

Koo Xin Yi's curator insight, January 31, 2013 4:35 AM

In this article, it shows that even employed people are drowning into the pool of poverty. Having a job means having income. However, some people could hold onto several jobs but still get a lower pay compared to others who worked for the same duration. In fact, the wages they earned and hours they spent often does not make ends meet, hence poverty within the working class exists. I feel that it is unfair to work so hard for hours and still get a pay that is not worth it and that they definitely deserve more.

Finding another job is also difficult. One can have many degrees, diploma and years of experience but yet cannot qualify for a job in his field due to the high expectations. Although it is true that a certain level of education is required to qualify for a job, however I personally feel that they should be given a chance to try it out. If no one is willing to give them a chance, they will only give up on finding a job and later on themselves, hence falling deeper into poverty.
