Full House Theme Song From Every Season

These are all of the openings.
Liana Shahapy's insight:

In the 1980s/1990s we also see a huge shift in gender roles. Shows like Full House depict a three man and no woman family where the guys are made to do house work as well as raise the children. This is representing single father families which is a major change from what we are used to seeing protrayed in films and tv about the family dynamic.

Liana Shahapy's insight:

Between the 1930s and the 1940s there was a strong emphasis on family and home. In movies such as The wizard of Oz or Gone with the Wind, there is a strong value of home and family. This is mostly because this was a time of the great depression and war and therefore families needed to stick together. Women communicate americas cuture's view of the family and therfore are portrayed as domestic and serving as good wifes to their families.

Liana Shahapy's insight:

During the 1970's there was a shift in women's media portrayal. Gender Roles in "I Love Lucy"

This video shows the differences in presumed gender roles 50 years ago.
Liana Shahapy's insight:

In this clip the husband and wife switch roles. The women were put to work at a factory and did not know what they were doing and messed up. This is showing that women are not meant to work and should stay at home because at the end of the video it shows the women saying they are bad workers and got fired and want to go back to being housewives.

Vamps, Flappers, and Shieks: Films of The 1920s

Liana Shahapy's insight:

These were films from the 1920s about flappers. This was during the roaring twnties when women were thought to be more independent and demanded eqaulity. This is clear by the descriptions of these films. Women were being depicted as causing problems to their husbands and it all lead to their husbands being displeased. Much like what was going on during this time period.
