Equivalency Guide | University of Washington

Jonathan Escobar's insight:

Here is a website from UW that can show me all the credits that will transfer to the university. My Calculus class (math & 151) that I am taking in High School will transfer as a math & 124 level class. This shows me that if I can pass my Calculus class with a good grade, then I will have a college math credit.

BYU Predental Coursework

Jonathan Escobar's insight:

I chose this site because I find it very helpful for planning to take the classes that I need in order to fulfill the prerequisites to apply to dental school. This document is basically a whole program where it recommends which classes are most affective to take before attempting the DAT (equivalent to the SAT, but for dental school) and which classes you should take after the DAT.

UW Dental School Prerequisites

To be considered for admission to our School you will need to fulfill the following requirements: Be classified as a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Take the Dental Admission Test by the October 31st deadline.
Jonathan Escobar's insight:

This website is important for my research because it shows me which classes I could possibly take at the University of Washington to fulfill the requirements to apply to its dental school. The specific classes that are listed are all classes that the UW offers for its own dental school. These classes would be the best to take because the University knows what the dental school requires in order to succeed so they can plan out their classes to teach the students exactly what they will need to use if they get accepted to the school. Taking the prerequisites at another school wouldn't be as beneficial because another college doesn't know what exactly to teach their kids to be successful at another schools dentisty school. The UW classes are directionally proportional to the UW Dentist school. If I wanted the most experience out of college and the best possibility to get accepted into the UW dentistry school, then I might consider going to UW over another school, that is, if I get accepted.

BYU Handouts | Pre Professional Advisement Center

Jonathan Escobar's insight:

This website is useful in my research because it provides an organized layout of helpful tips on how to be successful in dentistry. It has instructions for writting letters of recommendation, predental information, tips on applying to dental school, information of dental coursework, and how to prepare for the DAT. All of these things are required to stay on track. If there is a place where every answer can be answered, it would have to be this website.
