2.) Muscle strains and ligament sprains are among the most common injuries in athletes. These injuries can result from a number of things including: "poor coaching, poor body mechanics, overuse of muscles, lack of proper conditioning, insufficient stretching, and physical trauma" (MedicalBoox). Stingers and spondylolysis are two other common sports injuries, and they can lead to the less common disc injury.

4.) Most injuries that occur from running are a result of overusing muscles, ligaments, and joints. Runner's knee, shin splints, achilles tendonitis, hip problems, and lower back pain are the most common running injuries.Flexibility, strength, and mechanical errors should be assessed before running, because they can prevent these overuse injuries from happening.

3.) Overuse is one of the major causes of ankle injuries. This happens when athletes push themselves too far, especially when they are worn out. Most overuse ankle injuries result in sprains. They will hurt but they do not usually keep an athlete out of the sport for more than a couple days, depending on the severity.

5.) Even though the sports themselves vary, they have injuries that are common among all of them. Achilles tendonitis, concussions, groin strains, shin splints, lower back pain, pulled muscles, tennis/golf elbow, ankle sprains, shoulder injuries, and runner's knee are the ten most common injuries in any sport. They can all be prevented and treated depending on the severity and how early the injury is caught.
