Krista M. McKinney's insight:

At 29 years old, Crystal has been given less than two years to live.
Crystal Demarais has lived with one lung for the last 10 years, due to Aspergillus, a fungal infection. This same infection is now attacking her other lung which is functioning at approximately 41% capacity. If she does not receive a lung transplant she will most likely not live far past her thirtieth birthday.

 Sadly, Crystal's plight is not unique. Hundreds of thousands of Americans are suffering with life-threatening illnesses at this very moment; however, Crystal's story is made extraordinary through the valiant efforts her friends and family are making to save her life. In Crystal's name, her dedicated friends have established a crisis fund, through http://www.gofundme.com/6dlyd8, to collect money for the transplant. To date, the gofundme campaign has raised $3,770 of the $10,000 needed.
