Austal secures order for more wind farm support vessels

The 27 metres catamarans will be used by UK-based Turbine Transfers to support wind turbine installation and maintenance activities in European waters. Austal will build them at its shipyard in the Philippines over a period of approximately nine months, commencing in March 2013.

Bureau Veritas classes the largest containership in the world

Bureau Veritas has classed what is currently the largest containership in the world. Built by DSME in South Korea for French operator CMA-CGM, el CGM Marco Polo is the first in a series of three 16,000 TEU vessels.

The CGM Marco Polo -396 metres length and 54 metres beam with a draft of 16 metres- is equipped with the latest cutting-edge environmental technology. Delivery of the other two vessels in the series is expected in 2013.
