When the 1960s were coming to a close sub genres of rock where starting to come about in masses. sub-genres such as “glam rock, which highlighted showmanship and visual style” and heavy metal, which was based on lowed heavy drum beats and guitar riffs where coming into there own. Other such genres as blues rock, and jazz-rock fusion where a part of hybrid genres that mixing together two different genres of music entirely.

The history of rock music began when America's youth became entranced by sounds that had previously been kept off the radio.
Alec Balenciaga's insight:

American blues influenced a massive British take over starting in 1964. It brought bands such as the Beatles and the Rolling Stones into American radios and started a massive fascination with this music called “The British Invasion”. The Beatles and Stones weren’t the only bands reaping the benefits of America but bands like The Kinks and The Yardbirds where also soaking in the publicity in America too.

Record Market were like sharks in bloody water picked up on what was happening with rock ‘n’ roll.  Rock ‘n’ Roll music was bringing together black and white teens at the time. This also helped to start the rebellious “Youth Revolution” that made a generation gap between parents and teens of that time.

What the future holds for rock music may not be known, although it is safe to say the rock music will still be around for the next five decades

Chuck Berry has been known to be the creator of the over night sensation that is rock in roll.  It originated from what was called black music, which is just a form of jazz music.   In the 1950s the younger generation welcomed this music because it allowed them the freedom of expression and let them show their rebellious side of them.

Where did "Rock and Roll" originate. "Rock and Roll" has not always been a part of the world of music. So the question arises as to where "Rock and Roll" actual

Alan Freed was the first person to refer to the music as “Rock and Roll”.  Freed was a disc jockey in Cleveland, Ohio when he donned the iconic phrase in the early 1950’s.  A couple of the very first Rock and Roll concerts where set up and promoted by Freed, he also helped with rhythm and blues shows.

 

 

Garage bands where at a all time high in the early 1960’s in England. These bands where digging in and ready to make the well know British invasion. The Beatles where on the front lines of the invasion and followed by bands like The Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and many more.

 

 

Rockabilly groups in the 1950’s really helped shape the look and sound of “Rock N’ Roll” bands. Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, and Chuck Berry where leaders in these rockabilly groups. Many of these artists lived very close to one another, most of which calling the state of Tennessee their home

How did Blues Influence Rock and Roll? | Music

Rock and roll would be nothing if it wasn’t for all the different elements it took from blues music. With similar instruments and the ability to tell a story with song as blues rock and roll was with out a doubt shaped by blues in just about every single way.  Without blues music it is possible that rock music would have never existed in the first place.

Rock and Roll spread across America like the black plague and that’s what the churches thought it was.  The churches believed rock and roll to be “Satan’s music”.  Along with the church the parents of teenagers back in the 50’s thought it was terrible music.  The teenagers loved the music because it allowed them to rebel and act themselves.

Early stars such as Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, and Little Richard became rock icons.  Without these icons rock music would not have impacted the world the way it did. They helped create dances, fashion, and the rock culture, as we know it today.
