7 herramientas online para crear insignias o badges | Musikawa | open education | Scoop.it

Five Critical Skills to Empower Students in the Digital Age

Five Critical Skills to Empower Students in the Digital Age | open education | Scoop.it

Even as educators are turning to technology to offer ever more granular data on children’s learning, November maintains teaching them to assess their own performance is more useful. Dinky Diana Kay Smith's curator insight, August 20, 2015 5:22 AM

Children are not inspired to learn by repeating the same processes over and over. Children develop an interest in a variety of subjects because of interest. This interest can lead to a better understanding. Of a topic of interest when they are asked to research or are inspired to research to learn more about something. By allowing a child to delve into a topic allows for greater understanding in the sense of accomplishment.

106 Experts Share Their Thoughts on the Future of Education, Part 1: PreK-12

106 Experts Share Their Thoughts on the Future of Education, Part 1: PreK-12 | open education | Scoop.it

The future of education is digital. We live in an increasingly digital world, where technology is a part of our lives in so many ways. Now more than ever, it is crucial that we incorporate digital technology into education. To prepare students for higher education and future jobs, we must ensure that they are familiar with technology.

Chong Jiaxuan's comment, March 11, 10:42 AM
The experts mentioned in the articles all give opinions that classrooms will become more digitalised. This is not a doubt as at a young age of 2-3 years old, children are exposed to many forms of technology, like mobile phones, laptops and computers. They grow up accustomed to such items and will therefore use these technologies intensely as they enter school. One expert says that lectures in homogeneous classrooms will be a thing of the past because students now have access to knowledge at their fingertips, and thus teachers need to teach soft skills such as collaboration and teamwork to the students. I agree with this because as children grow up in a digitalised age, they lose the chance to interact with other children because their eyes are glued to their screens. The children lose their abilities to socialise, and thus schools will come into play.

How flipped learning works in (and out of) the classroom
