Since the first of the year, South Africa has lost 146 rhinos to poachers or approximately 2.5 rhinos every day. This is a slight dip from last year's poaching rate, which hit 1,004 for the whole year or 2.75 a day. South Africa is home to more rhinos than any other country on the planet, but the populations have been hit hard by poachers in recent years seeking rhino horn.

in the first Rhino Art Vietnam children’s art competition aimed to raise
awareness about rhino conservation and to reduce rhino horn consumption.
Rhino Art Vietnam was organized by WildAct Vietnam, Humane Society
International, the Hanoi Education and Training Department and was
co-sponsored by the Kingsley Holgate Foundation and Helping Rhinos UK.

Olivia and Carter and several Rhino Champions hand delivered over 10,000 letters from around the world to the office of the Minister of Environmental Affairs at an historic meeting between all the key stakeholders involved with trying to save rhinos from extinction.

The government official in charge of the meeting attempted to stop the kids from presenting their letters but they ignored her and pressed on.
