Workplace Health & Safety and Workers Compensation

Workplace Health & Safety and Workers Compensation | OHS Quest 3 | Scoop.it
The Australian Nursing Federation is the union for registered nurses, enrolled nurses, midwives, assistants in nursing doing nursing work in every state and territory throughout Australia. You couldn't be in better hands.
Jamie's insight:

I agree that healthcare workers are entitled to a healthy and safe workplace especially with the highest exposure to workplace violence much more needs to been done to ensure their safety.

What I do find very concerning for the health care industry is that  statics show that nurses are going on work compensation for back related injury yet a no lift policy has not been developed across the health care industry to target this ongoing issue. How much could we save if we set some kind of no lift policy in place ?

We might even save enough money to fix our national Comcare scheme which has stopped large employees moving to state workers compensation which has caused decrease in benefits and rights to the worker.
