Speed is a very important factor in many car accidents, motor vehicles are not equipped with black boxes so how do we determine if speed was a contributing factor to an accident...The answer is 'skid forensics'  where investigators use skid marks, formulas & algebra to determine the speed at which the vehicle was driving before hitting the brakes.

Whether you thank it or blame it, today's technology means we're busier than we've ever been. And that "10 things at once 24/7" pressure even extends to drivers trying to multi-task behind the wheel.
Lizii Cassidy's insight:

When I obtained my driver's licence I do not believe I was properly educated on the dangers of operating a motor vehicle. I think it should be mandatory for all people learning to drive to complete a test which involves the material in this article. I was a very naïve driver until I completed a defensive driving course which taught me things such as those listed in this article. I no longer feel like a danger to myself or other road users.

It worries me to think that a safety feature which is designed to give the driver peace of mind could be faulty. It's even more of a concern to think that the manufacturers would be aware of this hazard & yet still sell their product without rectification of the fault.
