This is an article taken from the Encyclopedia of Earth. This article provides a bit of background on nuclear power reactors, but its main focus is on various reactor incidents and their saftey. There is also a very interesting table that provides information comparing the relative safties between various power sources. According to this table, nuclear power reactors result in the least amount of deaths per year compared to other forms of energy production.

In one of my classes, i was required to pick a global issue to research and write about. I chose to work with nuclear energy. We were assigned various writing assignments in which we were supposed to present our findings. I completed two of these assignments. The second one focused more on nuclear waste and can be found in my ScoopIt topic "Nuclear Waste."

This is the first assignment i completed. It focused more on nuclear power overall. I briefly discussed what nuclear energy is and where it comes from, why it is needed, and how it can help.
