Pumpkin is back. The 300-kilogram great white shark fitted with an acoustic tag in 2016 has been detected in the Minas Passage for the second year in a row by weir fisherman Darren Porter. On Wednesday Porter was out checking three of the network of 42 underwater receivers he maintains in the Bay of Fundy via a Bluetooth connection to his laptop.

ST. ANTHONY, N.L. — Cod is being processed and filleted in St. Anthony for the first time since the 1992 cod moratorium. The Northern Pen has learned that St. Anthony Seafoods, 75 per cent owned by Clearwater Seafoods of Halifax and the remaining 25 per cent by St. Anthony Basin Resources Inc., is partnering with Northern Lights Seafood Inc.
