This list is from 2009, and of course, it's a bit anglocentric, but it's fabulous.

Best Modern PDF Reader: Windows 8 Default Or Adobe Reader Touch? | Noticias Tecnologicas | Scoop.it

The default PDF reader that comes pre-loaded with Windows 8/8.1 isn’t bad, but it has some stiff competition coming from Adobe with their Windows 8 version of Adobe Reader.

Why You Should Read More In 2014

Why You Should Read More In 2014 | Noticias Tecnologicas | Scoop.it

My real resolution, however, involves a different kind of muscle -- one that's been atrophying in recent years. Yes, it's my brain, which needs to be strengthened with a healthy reading regimen. (My New Year's Resolution Isn't to Go to the Gym.

If you're going to make a resolution for 2014, this would be a good one.  My resolution last year was to read more short story collections - and I've enjoyed it so much, and discovered so many great writers (Ron Rash, T.C.Boyle, George Saunders, Claire Vaye Watkins among them) I think I'll make the same one all over again!

I have a few "Castle Library" (reading) tasks in my HabitRPG Habits column. I should probably add a general one into my Dailies. ...maybe I will...but I kinda wish there was a column somewhere between the two (rather than "must do on Mon/Tues/Wed/...").

I am starting to think all librarians must become embedded librarians.  We all live in virtual worlds (whether or not we have avatars) yet we all need a physical community hub, too. Librarians can meet information literacy needs in all spaces.

Over the years Google has always stated that what others did, in particular, with bad links, can't hurt your sites rankings. Many of us knew differently, but it was always kept somewhat behind closed doors. It wasn't written about nor openly discussed. Discretion being the better part of valor and all that.
