BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) can Work Well When Approached Properly. Since I wrote the controversial post, 5 Reasons Why BYOD is a Bad Idea over the summer,

Los programas BYOD permiten a los estudiantes traer sus propias tabletas, teléfonos inteligentes y portátiles de casa al aula para uso educativo.

 

Muchos estudiantes no pueden permitirse ese lujo y sí, es posible que no sea una solución a largo plazo para llevar la tecnología del siglo XXI al aula. 

 

Pero existen casos de implementación con éxito en USA; estructurados, documentados y compartidos en la red.

En la actualidad, la gran mayoría de empresas proporcionan a sus empleados el equipamiento tecnológico que van a utilizar para desempeñar su trabajo.

Aunque el artículo esté orientado a la "empresa" es indudable su importancia en el aula tradicional y otros espacios u organizaciones educativas. Merece la pena una lectura del mismo.


El BYOD, es decir, el Bring Your Own Device. (trae tu propio dispositivo) es un nuevo paradigma en la gestión de la infraestructura tecnológica de las empresas en la que se “levantan” las restricciones al uso de dispositivos ajenos a la empresa,


Cara a la empresa, la adopción del BYOD es interesante porque aporta una mejora en la productividad de los empleados y, en determinados casos, un importante ahorro en los costes operativos de la compañía al no tener que renovar, de manera tan continuada, su parque de infraestructuras.


...Aunque las ventajas son muchas, la puesta en práctica no suele ser sencilla...queda bastante claro que el BYOD no es un “enchufar y listo”, sino que requiere de una estrategia de implantación meditada.


El BYOD es algo más que un cambio de filosofía, es un nuevo modelo de gestión de la infraestructura IT de las empresas que supone un importante reto tecnológico.
