The Unanticipated Benefits of Content Curation

The Unanticipated Benefits of Content Curation | Nonprofit Leadership | Scoop.it

Author: Beth Kanter

Site: Beth's Blog

Overview:  Reflections on content curation skills and benefits.  Pointing out some examples, data around curation, and process suggestions.

Takeaway: "Curation has nothing to do with personal expression or sharing nor with collecting links, tweets or blog posts that you may find interesting.   Curation is all about helping your audience dive in and make sense of a specific topic, issue, event or news story.  It is about collecting, but it is also about explaining, illustrating, bringing in different points of view and updating the view as it changes.   It is also about sharing with your community – not passing along stuff that you have not read or contextualize or shooting out links."

Note to self:  Must keep this for review to better understand content curation.

Agile and Lean User Experience: The Right Methodology for Technology Projects.

Agile and Lean User Experience: The Right Methodology for Technology Projects. | Nonprofit Leadership | Scoop.it

Author:  Brian Verhoeven

Site: Forum One

Overview:  Description of methodologies for technology projects, outline of the process at Forum One - Think > Make > Check > Repeat, and links to additional reading.

Takeaway: "The key to this documentation, just like the key to launching your product, is to document what is important to your stakeholders — no more, no less — and doing so at the lowest possible cost. In a waterfall methodology, the design team is often concerned about creating the “deliverable” and ensuring that all of the necessary details are contained within those documents. In an Agile and Lean UX approach, the focus is on working software and creating documents to facilitate conversation."
