A quick update: Nikon USA removed the sentence from their support page where they suggested not to breathe on your lens to clean it because the lens coating could be damage. I guess it is now safe to continue to clean your lens by "fogging" it.

Nikon D610 review
Amateur Photographer
The Nikon D600 scored highly (84%) when we tested it last year (AP 13 October 2012), and I've been a big fan of it.

The 24MP D610 is Nikon's latest enthusiast-targeted full-frame DSLR. Coming fairly hot on the heels of the D600, the 610 gains a new shutter mechanism, which is responsible for two out of the camera's three new features. We've had the chance to handle the D610 and have prepared a first impressions review of the refreshed enthusiast full framer.

The Nikon D600 is the first “entry level” full frame DSLR. This D600 review offers real world comparison photos from Nikon D600 and D700 and D7000, the two cameras to which the Nikon D600 has been (sometimes pejoratively) compared. As I presently own all three cameras, I thought these controlled tests in addition to my commentary about the Nikon D600 after using a variety of Nikon cameras over the years, would provide readers with relevant information to make an informed decision as to whether the D600 would be a worthwhile upgrade from the D7000 or D700.

We've just published our 23-page, in-depth review of the Nikon D600. Aimed at enthusiasts, the Nikon D600 offers a 24MP full-frame CMOS sensor and a 39-point AF system adapted from the D7000. In many other respects, it owes a lot to its considerably more expensive cousin, the 36MP D800. When we previewed the D600 we were impressed by its image quality and how many features it offers for the money. So how does it fare when put through our rigorous studio and real-world testing? Nikon has launched the much-rumored Nikkor 70-200mm F4G ED VR a lighter and more affordable tele-zoom with a claimed 5 stops of image stabilization. This is delivered by what the company terms 'third-generation VR,' which we're told is not a successor to VRII. The lens joins Nikon's range of constant-F4 lenses, alongside the 16-35mm F4 and 24-120mm F4 and includes both nano crystal coating and a ring-type AF-S motor to give full-time manual focus override. At $1400 the lens is priced relatively closely to the Canon equivalent's list price - as is the $224 optional tripod ring.

DxOMark tested the Nikon D600 and gave it an overall score of 94:
"Nikon’s recently released consumer-oriented full-frame sensor DSLR, the D600, has just gone through DxOMark’s image quality evaluation tests. And the verdict is in: with a DxOMark Overall Score of 94, the D600 is an affordable camera that places a high premium on image quality, as it ranks just behind the top performing Nikon D800 and Nikon D800E. It is also a significant improvement over the high-end professional flagship DSLRs, the Nikon D3X and the Nikon D4."

It may be smaller than the D300S, but the Nikon D600 has a full-frame sensor and our lab results show its pretty darn good.
