Los Angeles art duo the Haas Brothers' first retrospective exhibition has opened at The Bass museum in Miami Beach, filled with their "fantasy reality of flora and fauna" in a spectrum of hues.

Named Ferngully after a 1992 animated film, the exhibition opened this week to coincide with the Art Basel fair and other events taking place across the Miami area.

Texas-based Chaos Makeup recently launched a multi-chrome pigment that shifts between multiple colors, including magenta, teal, green, and purple. The brand has been teasing followers with eye-popping videos of these whole hand swatches, which change color based on body heat and light, for the last year.

Researchers at Harvard University and other institutions showed participants 1000 dots ranging in color from very blue to very purple, and asked them to sort the dots into either category. For the first 200 trials, participants divided up the dots pretty evenly: Roughly half were blue and half were purple.

identification function, and (2) do not serve a merely decorative or utilitarian purpose.

Words like “active” and “user-controlled” describe an entire category of smart technology, but now, thanks to research scientists at the University of Central Florida, these concepts apply to a wearable tech fabric called ChroMorphous. ChroMorphous, which can be controlled via an app on the wearer’s smartphone, differs from other color-changing fabrics on the market due to the design of the fabric itself: once activated, an electric current flows through micro-wires embedded in each fiber, causing thermochromic pigments in the fabric to change color.

John Galliano's Artisanal AW 2018 women's collection for Maison Margiela features layers of sorbet-coloured garments worn back to front and iPhones clamped to model's calves.

Galliano, who has been creative director of avant-garde label Maison Margiela since October 2014, designed the collection for a "new tribe [of] neo-digital natives".

The Artisanal Autumn/Winter 2018 women's collection debuted on 4 July, during Paris Haute Couture fashion week.
