Creation of the famous Longchamp Pliage collection in 1993

The Longchamp Pliage bags were soon available in vibrant colors,

AnneDerennes's insight:

The Longchamp Pliage bags were soon available in vibrant colors, with design twists like transparent pockets, fanciful patterns and innovative materials, increasing Longchamp's clientele while becoming a classic. Make-up, garment, travel and tennis bags also joined the foldable line, and in the 1990s, the label launched a polished line of gloves, jewelry, neckties and clothing. In 2008, Longchamp celebrated its 60th anniversary, by reissuing the LM bag designed by Philippe Cassegrain in the early 1970s. Two years later, Kate Moss was named ambassador of Longchamp, and has since designed for the brand each season. Having opened its first boutique dedicated to its bags in Paris in 1980, Longchamp now has over a hundred boutiques worldwide.

Longchamp is a French design house founded in Paris by Jean Cassegrain in 1948. The designer's small Parisian boutique first produced an array of leather tobacco accessories illustrated with an image of a mill as a nod towards the family name, but soon after, Jean Cassegrain wanted to expand his creativity. He created leather wallets for men and decided to display them in his shop window. They were an instant success. Jean Cassegrain continued creating new items, launching a garment bag in soft lambskin which was the beginning to Longchamp leather goods. His designs grew in popularity, and little by little the demand for his leather goods began to replace those for his smoking accessories. Jean Cassegrain named his line Longchamp www.soldessacslongchamps.com referring to the last mill in Paris located near the Longchamp racetrack and the illustrator Turenne Chevallereau designed the legendary equestrian logo.

Towards the mid to late 20th century, Philippe Cassegrain, the successor of Longchamp, created a line of bags in khaki nylon and leather during the 1970s. Named nylon garni de cuir (nylon trimmed with leather), the collection gave an alternative to carrying heavy suitcases. Once again the brand met another big success. On a quest to develop the ideal form for his bags, the designer invented the Xtra-Bag, a bag that folded down to a quarter of its size and slid into a simple case. This innovation led to the creation of the famous Pliage collection in 1993. Designed in canvas with a snap closure and two leather handles, the bag folds and unfolds in one simple movement. Worn by men and women of every generation, the Pliage bag became the symbol of Longchamp.

Michael Kors Venus Shopper offers chocolate, black, or luggage

Michael Kors is biting and witty on Project Runway and practical and funky in his designs.

AnneDerennes's insight:

The Michael Kors Venus Shopper offers three supple and creamy colors (chocolate, black, or luggage (shown)) and all the amenities needed for this handbag. The additions that separate this bag from the rest are the braided top handles with rings, tabbed corners, and a drawstring closure that features Michael Kors http://www.michaelkorsoutletonline24.com/ charms. Kors himself may be a tough judge, but for this bag I don’t feel the need to judge his sense of style. For the typical person, it flows amazingly. Dimensions of this bag are 10″H x 12 1/2″W x 6″D.

During grade school and high school I really had no choice but to be preppy. Private school does that to you. But now that I can dress the way I choose, I do find myself still sporting the preppy look from time to time. For some reason, I have a place in my fashionable heart for argyle. Those diamonds just get me going ;) The Michael Kors College Knit Bag shows off a camel, brown and white argyle knit which is offset by tan leather trim and golden hardware. The simplicity of this bag is perfect for a classy lady trying to give herself a bit of a preppy look. Topping off the bag is a shoulder strap with chain-link insets and a frame top with a push-lock closure. This cute little preppy bag measures 6 1/2″H x 13″W x 2″D and is ready to be pre-ordered via Bergdorf Goodman for $450. The hardware and studs are golden which compliment the other colors and materials. On the front, there are two flap pockets with extended tabs. I can’t figure it all out, but there is something so alluring about this bag for me that I just keep looking at it and wishing it was mine. If you love me you will put yourself on the pre-order list and buy this beauty via Bergdorf goodman for $3,000. And, I will accept charity today and happily take this bag if you buy it for me :-) When I think of Michael Kors, exotic materials do not seem to come to mind. Not necessarily a bad thing, just not an association. But today I have been hit by the Michael Kors beauty truck. There is something about this bag that just looks so supple, rich, and creamy that I can not ignore it. The Michael Kors www.michaelkorsoutletonline24.com Ostrich Drawstring Satchel is bold and beautifully with its peanut ostrich body and perfectly accenting brown leather trim. The two shades of brown remind me of some creamy dessert and since I have such a sweet tooth, it makes me smile. The top handles show off detailed stitching along with the rest of the bags contrast stitching. I am not always a fan of drawstring tops, but this top with beaded ties brings the bags goodness together in a way I can’t describe.

Love Michael Kors Woven Raffia Clutch

Spring has sprung, PurseBloggers! It’s officially here! Well,

AnneDerennes's insight:

Spring has sprung, PurseBloggers! It’s officially here! Well, it’s been officially here for a few days now, but I’m a blogger, you can’t expect me to be up on things like dates and calendars. That wasn’t in my contract. But I’ve crawled out from under my rock (or, more realistically, off of my couch), looked outside, and realized that the sun and warmth I’ve been bellyaching for for months is actually OUT THERE. RIGHT NOW. Who would have known? And more importantly, why don’t I have a spring clutch already? In Athens, everyone goes out at night. We’re a college town, and the bar scene is the basis of our social structure (and the wind in most people’s wings). Since I now work from home, a daytime bag for every occasion isn’t necessarily crucial (since, let’s face it, I don’t get out that much), but a nighttime bag in www.michaelkorsoutletonline24.com ? More important than ever.

Classic, sleek, and chic. Those are all words I would use to describe this handbag. The Michael Kors Zip Patent Clutch could be one addition to your collection you would get loads of use out of. I love when I find clutches that have an element of distinction, yet at the same time I also love when some designs get back to the basics. This clutch certainly is classic but the zip detail through the middle definitely adds an edgy twist. I wasn’t sure how I felt about that, but it is kind of growing on me. The only thing to watch out for – I would suggest carrying a newspaper and this clutch at the same time – beware of smudgy fingerprints! Other than that, I’m liking what I see. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $495. I have this clutch, the zip doesn't snag your clothing as it's ever so slightly recessed, but the leather is not as sturdy as you might expect from patent - managed to damage it on its first outing. I like the design, but maybe in a different color, like a popping bright blue or orange? That I think would match the edginess of the zipper more, although that's maybe not as classic.

And for that purpose, I submit the Michael Kors Woven Raffia Clutch for your consideration. Fun color? Check. It’s a red with both pink and orange undertones, making it eternally sunny and capable of matching and coordinating with numerous other colors. Appropriate material? Check. Tightly woven raffia is the most obviously warm-weather fabric out there, and the weave on this is a bit different than most and interesting to look at. Correct size? Check. It’s not too big to lug around all night, but it’s not too small to fit my giant, janitor-sized key ring. http://www.michaelkorsoutletonline24.com/ Reasonable price? Check – sort of. In the broad scheme of bags, it certainly isn’t bad, but I have some kind of mental block against shelling out cash on any clutch I’d actually think about using, since I would inevitably destroy it. This is a bag I’d consider ponying up for, though. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $350.

give this Gucci handbag much more dimension

Sometimes I forget about my love of Gucci.

AnneDerennes's insight:

I get a little set in my ways and comfortable, much like a long relationship. But then something catches my eye and I every feeling of love I have for a brand comes back ten-fold. Gucci http://www.borsagucciprezzo.com/ was on my long-time, back-burner love corner for a while, but most recently it has moved back to the forefront of my mind. From the absolutely stunning 1970′s bags, to this glamorous 1921 bag, Gucci is on a roll. The shape of the bag is already stunning, but finishing it in cherry crocodile adds the cherry on top. I love crocodile skin, and when the quality of the skin is superb, the bag stands out that much more. The difference in scales is alluring and the cherry hue helps give this Gucci handbag much more dimension. The collection is a special edition to celebrate Gucci’s 90th anniversary, and to signify this special achievement, there is also a G.Gucci Firenze 1921 light gold plaque dangling from the bag. The single adjustable strap has a 8.3″drop, and the detachable shoulder strap with 17.7″ drop. True to Gucci aesthetics, the bag is finished with hand stitching, tassels, and bamboo detail. Buy via Gucci for $27,000.

Gucci is among the few premier designer brands that’s willing to go out on a limb with its men’s accessories designs, both when it comes to color and detail. These designs aren’t for the dudes who are worried that someone might mistake their bag for a purse, but that’s what makes them great – they’re incredibly luxurious and highly detailed in a way that’s not at all self-conscious of what a man “should” carry. Ladies, I wouldn’t blame you for picking up one of these designs for yourself either. I’d happily own any of them. When we pick men’s bags to write about, we usually try to find things that will appeal to a wide audience. Men in general are newer to this whole bag thing than women are, and although some of you guys are incredibly advanced and toting travel Birkins like it’s your job, we think you’ll agree that it’s your slightly more stylistically challenged brethren who need our man bag guidance the most. For this Man Bag Monday, though, we’d like to offer you a few pieces that ought to appeal to the man bag veterans out there, and they’re all Gucci.

For a dedicated lover of black (on black on black) like me, a collection like www.borsagucciprezzo.com Gucci Fall 2012 is incredibly difficult to resist. Even though I tend to buy colorful bags to pair with my dark wardrobe, black will always be my first and only true love, and a good black accessory deserves its own place in the wardrobe of every woman. If you’re in the market for a new black bag, suffice it to say that Gucci will have some options for you come fall. If your budget is particularly…creative, take special notice of the beautiful black crocodile bags that a few models were carrying. Want the full set? Check out the matching black croc riding boots over.

The Louis Vuitton Soho NYC Atelier

AnneDerennes's insight:

Even if you don’t have a Louis Vuitton trunk that you’d like to emblazon with your family’s crest (yes, the Soho Atelier is one of only a couple in the world that will do crests!), it’s simply a joy to watch the artist work and inspect the beautifully customized trunks, both historic and contemporary, that line the space’s shelves. An emphasis on personalization and brand history also goes along well with Vuitton’s strategy shift to focusing on a more rarified clientele; I got a luggage tag heat-stamped with my initials on Thursday night at the opening, and having something personalized is a unique luxury shopping experience indeed.

New York-area Louis Vuitton lovers (or any of you planning a visit to the city) are in luck. The brand has just unveiled the Atelier at Louis Vuitton Soho, a customization and artistry shop that celebrates the savoir faire of the brand, as well as performing a few more practical functions. It’s also, as you might imagine, a totally gorgeous space, and I was lucky enough to preview it last week. Love Hugh Jackman and this bag. This is the exact one that my 15 year-old son wants for the gym. If money were no object, I'd definitely get him one. It looks manly.

Inside Vuitton’s Greene Street flagship, you’ll find a room fill of the Louis Vuitton store experience you know and love, a room dedicated entirely to the art and science of traveling glamorously, and finally a room dedicated to the Atelier, the first space of its kind in the US (as well as, I’m told, the only one so elaborately appointed anywhere in the world). In addition to displaying a selection of Vuitton artwork and archival trunks, including one covered in a painting of a penguin, the Atelier will feature a daily in-house artisan, available to hand-paint customizations on hard-sided luggage, heat stamp monograms onto things like luggage tags and perform minor repairs on customers’ existing Vuitton pieces. For some examples of that work, check out the gallery below.

I far prefer this LV bag to the traditional monogrammed pieces we’ve seen on PB in recent weeks. While all Vuitton’s travel pieces are unisex (in theory), this bag is certainly masculine enough to compete with Hugh’s rippling biceps. The checkered Damier Graphite pattern is far more unassuming, and the print doesn’t even scream Louis Vuitton quite so loudly (though the full LV name is certainly on there). It looks less like a flashy status symbol, and more like a high-end gym bag. And what could be manlier than that? Do not adjust your television set. There is nothing wrong with your web browser. Your eyes do not deceive you, today’s featured bag-loving celeb is…a man. And what a man! Here’s Hugh Jackman in full-on Wolverine mode, tossing his Louis Vuitton Damier Graphite Keepall Bandouliere 55 Bag into a taxi in NYC. A hot man with a hot designer bag…ladies, don’t be alarmed if your panties suddenly burst into flames. You can get this versatile Louis Vuitton piece for $1,600 at Louis Vuitton.

Our favorite Louis Vuitton Speedy

We’ve already covered why you need to own a Balenciaga motorcycle bag and a Chanel flap bag,

AnneDerennes's insight:

We’ve already covered why you need to own a Balenciaga motorcycle bag and a Chanel flap bag, but those obviously aren’t the only iconic bags that a woman needs in her wardrobe. Your bag collection shouldn’t be missing a Louis Vuitton Speedy, but if it is, we’ve got a few things you might want to consider.

1. Don’t like monogram? There are dozens of other options: Monogram canvas may be the most popular material for this particular bag, but don’t let that fool you in to thinking that it’s the only one. A lot of people aren’t fond of logo prints (I happen to be one of them), and for those people, there are Damier and Epi leather options always available, as well as whatever graced the runways that season. Fall/Winter 2010 will be of particular interest to Speedy lovers – Vuitton www.borselouisvuittonprezzioutlet.com showed nothing but dozens of different Speedies in a variety of leathers and exotics. If you want logos, however, Vuitton comes up with a new version practically every season – watercolor, roses, cherries, pop-art pandas, graffiti. I could go on, but you get the idea.

2. In the world of designer handbags, they’re relatively affordable: Despite the fact that the price of a Speedy has gone up by over $100 since I bought mine a few years ago, they’re still something of a steal in the great scheme of designer bags. Speedies start at $665 for the25 cmmonogram version, and for an iconic bag from one of the biggest luxury companies on the planet, you’re not going to find a better deal. Bags with similar storied histories and famous followings will set you back thousands of dollars.

3. If it was good enough for Audrey Hepburn, it should be good enough for most of us: Grace Kelly may have been a fan of Hermés, but Audrey Hepburn was continually photographed wearing her favorite Louis Vuitton Speedy. Some people may say that the bag is played out, but don’t let people who chase labels dissuade you from enjoying a bag that has an important historical place in the lineage of the luxury handbag. With all of the different size and design permutations, there’s a Speedy out there to suit every style.

4. The shape can fit in any woman’s wardrobe: Speedies range in size from petite to quite large, and if you’d rather not wear a bag on your arm, Vuitton offers a crossbody strap to keep you hands-free. The brand’s purists will caution against using it, but crossbodies have become so very modern in the past year that wearing a Speedy as a messenger might actually be a good way to update it. Once you’ve decided how to carry it, even the25cmversion has plenty of room for all of your daily essentials.

5. Louis Vuitton bags are practically indestructible: This one requires little explanation for a true bag lover – even people that aren’t Vuitton fans know that their bags are historically very well-made, particularly the traditional styles. Also, if your Louis Vuitton Speedy www.borselouisvuittonprezzioutlet.com were to require repair, Vuitton has better service for those kinds of things that almost any other brand I can think of, save for Hermes. As I mentioned previously, however, good luck finding an Hermes bag for less than a grand.

Marc Jacobs ferait son Louis Vuitton Printemps 2014 montrent

sac à main prolifiques

AnneDerennes's insight:

Louis Vuitton Montgolfiere Bag Charm

Fancy-pants pens have long been a hallmark of the luxury industry,

AnneDerennes's insight:

Fancy-pants pens have long been a hallmark of the luxury industry, but the leather-wrapped Hermes Arlequin H Pencil is something different entirely. Pens can be refilled with fine ink and passed down from generation to generation; pencils, on the other hand, are meant to be used up in short order by virtue of their very construction. Vuitton does, in fact, make a pencil. It comes in both silver and gold and retails for $175 or $245, respectively. The Vuitton pencil, though, appears to be a refillable implement intended for longterm use, so while it’s still a little silly, at least you won’t have to throw it away after a few months of using it in one of the brand’s agendas. On the other hand, unless I’m mistaken, the Hermes pencil is just a normal, wooden writing implement wrapped in a thin layer of woven leather and meant to be sharpened. At this point in my nearly unending leather goods ennui, I’m merely surprised that Hermes doesn’t also offer a matching leather-covered pencil sharpener. Maybe next season. Buy through Hermes for $85.

When I first came across this…pencil (there are no fancy words for pencil), my immediate thought was, “Well, I bet Louis Vuitton makes one too.” Hermes and Louis Vuitton http://www.borselouisvuittonprezzioutlet.com/ are alike in a lot of ways (and LVMH seems to be hell-bent on making them part of the same whole), and they are perhaps the only two fashion brands with clients rabid enough to buy pencils from them. Chanel might also make that list, but I have yet to find a pencil from that particular set of Frenchies, so we’ll leave ‘em out for a moment. Usually, Louis Vuitton artist collaborations are easy to describe. The French brand tends to err on the side of big, bold, graphic visuals, and subtlety usually isn’t a common trait among its collections with the likes of Stephen Sprouse and Takashi Murakami. To say that the twee, low-fi animation of the brand’s recent video, The Great Journey of Little Bagcharms, is unexpected would be an understatement. It’s a good kind of unexpected, though. Because we have so many LV addicts in our audience, though, I thought I’d publish the lookbook itself, which includes several peeks at what this line will have to offer, purse-wise. There’s a little fur, a little matte leather and a little bit of saturated color. In short, most of these bags are a whole lot of wearable. I’ll take the emerald green duffel right now, thank you. Full photos after the jump – the immaculately detailed, incredibly luxurious clothes are worth a look as well.

Louis Vuitton teamed up with artist Christian Borstlap to animate this short film to fete the launch of the new Louis Vuitton Montgolfiere Bag Charm, a hot air balloon carrying a classic trunk. Even if you have little interest in the charm itself, the video’s old school line drawings and the sweet song that accompanies them are a nice little respite from your lunchtime food coma. Check out a larger picture of the charm and pricing information after the jump. As I’ve mentioned previously this week, the non-season seasons really irk me, as an accessories lover. Even Louis Vuitton www.borselouisvuittonprezzioutlet.com, a company that knows where its bread is buttered (the brand didn’t even start making ready-to-wear until Marc Jacobs’ advent in the 90s), doesn’t release handbag shots with its standard lookbook for pre-season collections. C’mon, Vuitton, throw us a bone!

Yayoi Kusama designed full-sized Louis Vuitton handbags

Like all of Vuitton’s recent seasonal advertising, the ads mirror the mood of the Fall 2012 runway show perfectly.

AnneDerennes's insight:

(Also like all of Vuitton’s recent ads: this campaign was lensed by Steven Meisel.) We’ve been transported inside of the train that graced the show’s runway, and all of the ladies are decked out in their traveling best, from enormous hats to equally enormous leopard bags. It’s a bit expected, but certainly not ineffective. What do you think? By now, all of you are probably familiar with Infinitely Kusama, the collection of ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes and accessories that Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama has designed for French luxury powerhouse Louis Vuitton. We showed you all of the collection’s full-sized handbags last week, but we know full well that handbag lovers, particularly LV handbag lovers, don’t just get excited about bags; there’s a whole world of accessories to go along with them, from leather wallets and agendas to scarves to sunglasses.

It’s clear by the sheer volume of pieces in Infinitely Kusama that Vuitton expects this collection to be a hit in the vein of past collaborations with Stephen Sprouse and Takashi Murakami. The company allowed her to speckle nearly every type of piece that it makes, including a really fun watch that I’d love to have in my collection. If you dig the Kusama look but aren’t sure that a full-on handbag would find a useful spot in your bag collection, a cuff or key pouch might be exactly what you need. Check out all the accessories after the jump, and if you’d like to see the Kusama x Vuitton shoes, head over to our sister site TalkShoes. Most of the collection is expected to hit stores July 10, with the bags following in October. We took a small peek into the polka-dotted world of Yayoi Kusama for Louis Vuitton two weeks ago, but now we have some new details (and photos!) that we think you guys are going to want to see. The bags from the collection, which is officially entitled Infinitely Kusama, aren’t going to hit store shelves until October, but stock images of the line have hit the Internet, and we’ve got photos of all the bags for your viewing pleasure.

As you might have guessed, the collection’s bags are mainly Vuitton http://www.soldessaclouisvuitton.com/ classics redone in Monogram Vernis leather with Kusama’s signature spots printed on top in contrasting colors. The lack of Speedys or Neverfulls in the collection took me by surprise, but perhaps more bags will be added if the collaboration is a hit. For not, the Lockits are the standout, but if you prefer a Pouchette or Papillon, there are plenty of those as well. Check out all the photos after the jump. In this case, four-year-old C.J., son of Laila Ali (a champion in her own right), stands tall near his proud grandfather, who has a Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Keepall serving as a luxury gym bag at his feet. The ads appear to be just the first element in Ali’s involvement with Louis Vuitton – check out a teaser video with him and Yasiin Bey (who you might know better as Mos Def) after the jump.

Joe Hart axe a warning says Manchester City defender

Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta believes the axing of Joe Hart for the 7-0 victory over Norwich is a reminder of the high standards expected at the Etihad Stadium.

AnneDerennes's insight:

The England goalkeeper paid the price for his costly last-minute mix-up with Matija Nastasic at Chelsea - the latest in a long line of errors - by losing his place to Costel Pantilimon on Saturday.

Zabaleta said: "Well, you know, that is football. The manager makes decisions. "We know in this team now the performance of everyone should be good week in, week out because we have two players in each position who can play. "Sometimes mistakes might cost the place but we are a big squad and we need to try to do well to keep the place in the team. "I think it was great for Costel. He is a man who works really hard in the week. He well deserved the place." Zabaleta also felt the result and performance were the perfect response to the late slip at Chelsea.

The Argentinian added: "I think it was a great performance by the team. We needed to respond well after the Chelsea defeat, that was hard for us. "I think the performance was great. Defending - it was important to keep the clean sheet, and we were on fire in attack. I think it was a great game. "It is another three points, that is good, and we look forward now to the http://www.billigefodboldstovler24.com/ Champions League game. "We feel very comfortable at home and our performances have been great since the start of the season. "Playing away we have dropped too many points but when we play at home we are a very strong side."

Newcastle forward Yoan Gouffran is hoping the 2-0 victory over Chelsea has gone some of the way towards repairing the damage of the derby defeat at Sunderland. The Magpies bounced back from their 2-1 reverse at the Stadium of Light and their midweek Capital One Cup exit at the hands of Manchester City to see off Jose Mourinho's title favourites 2-0 at St James' Park. Asked how tough the week had been, Gouffran said: "It was really, really difficult. It was an exhausting match for us against Manchester City. We lost in extra-time, so we had to play that much longer.

"Coming off the back of a derby defeat, we were very disappointed. We know we could have done a lot better in the week. "It was disappointing to have lost it and we had to go out there and show a really different side of ourselves on the pitch and really make it up to the fans, and we did that. "At the beginning of the match the manager told us we had to stay solid as a defensive unit - even the attackers had to make sure they stayed solid in our half. "In the second half Chelsea had to come forward, they needed to try to score and that's when we were able to go forward and take our chances.

"We were fantastic from the first minute until the very end. We were really solid defensively as a unit and we took our chances when we needed to, and it has given us a really good confidence boost." Gouffran opened the scoring for Newcastle in the 68th minute when he dived to head Yohan Cabaye's free-kick past the helpless Petr Cech. The former Bordeaux player said: "It was magnificent. The fans made one hell of a www.billigefodboldstovler24.com noise. "I really just wanted to go and slide. I hurt my knees a little bit and got some grass burns, but it was really nice and a wonderful feeling."

Former Real Madrid and Fulham midfielder in talks with Panathainikos

Former Real Madrid and Fulham midfielder Mahamadou Diarra is in contract talks with Greek club Panathainikos.

AnneDerennes's insight:

The Mali international failed to earn a new contract at Craven Cottage following the 2012-13 season after an injury-plagued year. A long-standing knee injury limited Diarra - who at one time cost Real Madrid £20million - to just 19 appearances for the Cottagers. However, reports suggest the African defensive midfielder is now in line to sign a six-month deal with the Greek giants. "I have contact with the Greek club http://www.chaussuresdefootpascheres.com/ and we will be talking again this week to agree something," he told Sky Sports. "I think I can still play at a good level. They are in the Champions League and I can bring my experience to the team but nothing is done yet. "I have enjoyed my time at Fulham, it is a friendly club and I would like to thank the club for everything they have done for me. I wish them good luck in the Premier League." Panathainikos are currently fourth in the Greek Super League, behind Olympiakos, PAOK and Atromitos.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has confirmed that defender Paul Dummett has been offered a new contract. The 22-year-old full-back has impressed in recent weeks having scored on his St James' Park debut against Liverpool on October 19, and the home-grown youngster is mulling over a new long-term deal. "We have a deal in place for Paul that we have talked about," said Pardew. "That has been talked about for a while. Whether it gets resolved in the next week or so - I don't know." Dummett has been ruled out of Saturday's match with Chelsea, with Fabricio Coloccini and Steven Taylor doubtful for the game at St James' Park. "He (Dummett) has an injury that will rule him out www.chaussuresdefootpascheres.com on Saturday," added Pardew. "We don't think it is too bad but is a shame because we really love him and he's on the crest of a wave. "We are pretty stretched for Chelsea. "But we have four senior players that are playing well at the moment in our back four."

Hearts and Inverness will lock horns in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup for the second year running. Aberdeen were paired with St Johnstone in the other semi-final when the draw was conducted by former Scotland manager Craig Levein and SPFL Secretary Iain Blair at Hampden on Thursday.

The ties will be played on the weekend of February 1 and 2 with the venues to be confirmed. Hearts defeated Edinburgh rivals Hibernian 1-0 at Easter Road on Wednesday night to book their place in the last four and their reward is a rematch with Inverness, who they beat 5-4 on penalties last January before losing to St Mirren in the Hampden final. Caley Thistle overcame Dundee United in the quarter-finals with a 2-1 extra-time success on Tuesday night. Aberdeen reached the semi-finals by beating Motherwell 2-0 on Wednesday despite having Joe Shaughnessy sent off. St Johnstone clinched their spot by seeing off Championship side Morton thanks to Gary McDonald's controversial injury-time winner.

And Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is looking forward to taking on Saints, whom he managed for almost four years until leaving in October 2011. Looking ahead to the semi-finals, the 42-year-old said: "St Johnstone is a club I know both as a player and manager. "Watching them recently I can see they are going from strength-to-strength and when the game comes around it will be tough. "And it was always going to be tough whoever we got, so we are delighted just to be in the draw. "It's always a big moment playing a former club but a semi-final is a big occasion in itself and I hope we're in good form.

"But if we don't win it, then I would be pleased for St Johnstone to win." The Dons lasted lifted silverware in 1995 but McInnes is not getting ahead of himself. The Pittodrie club are currently second in the SPFL table and, with Celtic already knocked out , McInnes prefers to play down his club's chances. He added: "We are now 90 minutes away from the final and with the squad we've got www.chaussuresdefootpascheres.com I feel we can do well this season but to do that we need to strive for consistency." He is also taking a low key approach with regards to Aberdeen's chances of catching Celtic in the league - the Hoops are currently six points clear at the top. McInnes went on: "That's a long way away. And I'm saying that without wanting to sound like we lack ambition.

Southampton forward delighted with season so far

Jay Rodriguez believes there is 'no limit' to what Southampton can achieve after moving to third in the table following a 2-0 win over Fulham.

AnneDerennes's insight:

Jay Rodriguez believes there is 'no limit' to what Southampton can achieve after moving to third in the table following a 2-0 win over Fulham. Rodriguez scored Southampton's second goal at St Mary's just before half-time after Rickie Lambert had headed the home side into a 20th minute lead. The victory lifts Southampton into the UEFA Champions League places after a start to the season which has also brought a win at Liverpool and draw at Manchester United.

Attacker Rodriguez was taken aback to discover their position following the game but was adamant they can go further, telling Sky Sports 1: "That is unbelievable. "We have got the belief, we just need to push on. I'm well chuffed. "There is no limit to what we can we achieve. We just need to keep the belief." Jay Rodriguez admits confidence is high in the Southampton dressing room after their 2-0 victory against Fulham Rodriguez emphasised the team's hard work and spirit as reasons behind their success which has taken many by surprise.

He said: "I don't think it is a secret really. We are a hard-pressing team, we work hard and we are honest. "Great players, great talent, a great team to be in. "We are focused on what we are working on, he (manager Mauricio Pochettino) has got us working with belief. "I am just looking forward to the next game, I don't think we are going to change anything to be honest. "Training is extremely hard; the lads have really taken to it and it is showing on the pitch." He also pointed to working alongside the likes of Lambert, saying: "I have learned so much from him, he is great to play with."

Preston boss Simon Grayson could not hide his delight after his substitutes changed the game to earn a 1-0 win against Notts County. Iain Hume climbed off the bench in the second half to stab home what proved to be the winner from Scott Laird's cross. The win keeps North End fourth in the table and firmly in the promotion hunt while County slip to the foot of the League One table. Grayson admitted afterwards that he had toyed with the idea of using Hume from the start before finally opting to hold his Canadian striker back as an impact sub. "I contemplated starting with Joe &£91;Garner&£93; and Iain &£91;Hume&£93; because it was a third game in a week for Kevin Davies and Stuart Beavon," said Grayson. "I chose to keep the continuity going knowing that players can come off the bench and affect the game.

"I'm happy that Iain Hume got his goal, it was fully deserved. "I thought both of them changed the game. Iain Hume and Joe Garner were lively, they were positive and I gave them something to think about when they came on. "Any game you go into, you've got to earn the right to play and be disciplined in what you do. And I thought we were professional, we played from the shape of the team. "We threw a team out which I wasn't sure how they were going to play, given a few injuries and suspensions that we had." Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth refused to blame the dismissal of Matt Bloomfield for his side's 2-1 home loss to Bury. William Edjenguele's late header handed the League Two strugglers the win after Tom Soares had equalised Anthony Stewart's 16th-minute opener for the hosts. Bloomfield was sent off 14 minutes from time for the Chairboys but Ainsworth shied away from blasting the midfielder. Ainsworth said: "We were the better team in the first half but we defended poorly in the second half. "The conditions worsened in the second half and we took an onslaught from Bury and didn't handle it well. "The sending off didn't help but it wasn't the reason we lost - www.chaussuresdefootenligne.fr there were other mistakes. I thought the goals probably were avoidable. "We had a couple of chances early on in the second half to put the game to bed and you've got to take those because we got bitten on the backside late on and probably got what we deserved.
