I think it’s awesome that many artists got their start from soundtracks.

Andrew Pilcher's curator insight, April 25, 10:19 PM
I think that using small time artists for movies and game soundtracks is a good idea. It gives a bigger chance for the world to notice the artist. Starting out may be hard for rising artists but bigger opportunities like soundtracks shouldn't be passed up. The rolling stone is a big reliable source. It is used for many music and audio news.

After reading this article I learned a nice amount of information about the record music revenues.  To see how independent labels are on the rise is rewarding. I believe that there are more independent labels out there now more than ever and that will one day put some of these major labels out of business or make them reinvent they contracts and the way they create, promote and invest into they artists. The source midi research is a major tool used in the music industry for accurate information on streaming. global and universal music revenues.
Roc Cooper's curator insight, April 22, 8:41 PM
To be frank, I am actually shocked to see these statistics. Lately I had been having issues listening to the uprising genres. Statistics like this tend to show me, that this world is one big place. It leads me to questions such as, “What part of music in the ‘Now’ can possibly be pushing this statistical trend? Is it that music can never die? Or is music evolving? My thoughts are a “whirlwind” when I try to fathom the millions of perspectives envolving the growth of modern music. I need to look into this fact a little more.
My source MIDIA RESEARCH is a new service focused solely on digital growth and prosperance within the tech-era. They combine statistics with technology within the social umbrella that is our world today. They use these techniques to further employ proper analysis for anyone needing the information. They allow for start up companies and the common musician to see exactly what sells, and what is popular in the media industries.
Artavia Monroe's curator insight, April 22, 10:33 PM
I think it’s amazing how music revenue increased greatly in the year of 2017 and I see a bright future it in 2018 also.

Roc Cooper's curator insight, April 22, 8:54 PM
With companies trying to find forever ways to “get rich or die trying”- 50 Cent, we forget the fragile balance that is our streaming systems today. With Spotify going “public” they are putting money into emplees pockets but leaving the stocks up for grabs for potential investors. They are doing this through a “ Direct Listing” as it’s called, by selling in between employees and investors. By doing this, it is risky. When a company becomes dispersed and sold so many times over, it becomes someone else’s “rules”. My source being money.cnn.com, may be advertised as “fake media”, but as statistics and fact checking will show you, they are usually right by their reporting.
Artavia Monroe's curator insight, April 22, 10:46 PM
This was a very cool concept and idea for Spotify. I see big things happening for them
