slecy81's curator insight, May 1, 2013 11:29 AM

I think that it is great that Minnesota is pushing to allow gay marriage. I just do not understand all the fuse with it, why does it matter who someone loves? I do think that they should call it a marriage still instead of a civil union. Why can't people be married to who they love rather than call it a civil union?

Michael Holm's curator insight, May 1, 2013 11:38 AM

I think its great that Minnesota is proposing a bill that would treat same-sex couples as equal as straight couples.

Brian Burroughs's comment, May 1, 2013 8:07 PM
They can get married in church. Marriage is a religious/ cultural decision and has nothing to do with the government. That's why they are getting rid of it and just having both hetero and homosexual couple get civil unions.
