jsFiddle - Online Editor for the Web (JavaScript, MooTools, jQuery, Prototype, YUI, Glow and Dojo, HTML, CSS)

jsFiddle - Online Editor for the Web (JavaScript, MooTools, jQuery, Prototype, YUI, Glow and Dojo, HTML, CSS) | nanovation or better | Scoop.it

"JsFiddle is a playground for web developers, a tool which may be used in many ways. One can use it as an online editor for snippets build from HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The code can then be shared with others, embedded on a blog, etc." -docs.jsfiddle.net

I've been seeing more and more code discussions using jsFiddle as a way to pick code apart - and for good reason. jsFiddle allows you to post working, editable code that others can run, copy and detourn for their own edificaiton. jsFiddle would be an excellent tool for facilitating assignments for any class that includes web coding, as it gives students an zero-conf programming environment, and instructors a way to easily disseminate assignments and give coding feedback.

Here's your asignment: fork the fiddle at http://jsfiddle.net/hanleybrand/rKzZk/ and do something cool!

node.js

node.js | nanovation or better | Scoop.it
node.js is very much the hot sauce of web development right now. At base, it's a server-side javascript implementation that is aimed at developing efficient network applications. The "hello world" is a web server implemented in 6 lines of code. You have been advised. http://nodejs.org/

A Day Made of Glass... Made possible by Corning.

"A Day Made of Glass," Corning's future-nostalgia promo video - I can't wait to be in the future and look back at this and say "how did they think the phone companies and display makers were ever going to establish an interoperability standard?"

On the other hand, I'd love to see a display wall/surface-like desk combo like the one at 3:00 - that would be amazing.

GraphClick - Graph and Movie Digitizer for Mac OS X - Free Download

GraphClick - Graph and Movie Digitizer for Mac OS X - Free Download | nanovation or better | Scoop.it

"GraphClick is a graph digitizer software which allows to automatically retrieve the original (x,y)-data from the image of a scanned graph or from a QuickTime movie."

I'm not sure I need to say more, but you should read that again.  This software will take a graph and attempt to re-generate data from an image of a graph. Clever, and perhaps useful for detecting bad charts? (I'm assuming here that a skewed or distorted chart would generate incorrect data)  $8, probably worth twice the price to the desperate researcher who has lost the original data file.

Markup.io: Annotate & Draw on any webpage, share without logging in

Markup.io: Annotate & Draw on any webpage, share without logging in | nanovation or better | Scoop.it
Interesting iteration of the 'web annotation' toolset - markup.io lets you draw on top of any webpage via a bookmarklet. One of the interesting things about the tool is that you can save and share the markup with others via a pastebin-like url (a nonsense example is here: http://markup.io/v/gcp1gb0c7b6b)
