Paragraphs

In my opinion, I believe the reason for the Spanish-American War and Cuba War was because if yellow journalism and imperialism. Today in the 21st Century, yellow journalism has an effect on some newspaper companies. The first two major practioners of this journalism were bitter rivals in the 1800's. In the past, these two rivals caused the Spanish-American War occur and if it didnt we wouldve went to war. In addition, they went to war against each other and criticize each other which caused the Spanish-American War. The most important reason that the Spanish-American War occured is because of imperialism.

No one had the truth about what was going on between the spanish and Cuba. The only resource that citizens had was the newspaper. Back then they didnt have electronics so no one could have the true facts. People believed everything they said and soon the U.S. declared war on Spain. There were many positive and negative consequences caused by yellow journalism. Some positive were that the Industrial Revolution eventually affected the newspaper industry. The newspapers were about the battleship in Havana and caused a lot of drama between the Spanish and the United States. They thought everything that was said in the newspaper was true so they declared war on Spain.

In my opinion, I think this picture means that this newspaper company is trying to sell newpapers because of the lying and gossip that was involved in it. They are  trying to persuade people to buy it by telling them the gossip news in the paper. In addition, this newspaper put "$50,000 reward" in bold to catch everyones attention to pick it up and read it. After, the readers see the bold "$50,000 reward" they would eventually read the rest of the newspaper and see and read the conflicts, gossip and more. This newspaper caught my attention ammediately.

This picture shows people reading the newspaper because of the interesting gossip. Looks like they are reading about the Spanish War in 1898, contrary to the arguements of many media historians. Defining the legacies means to me that everything that has been happening has been found and discovered and the truth has been revealed.

In this picture Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst are pushing the W.A.R. blocks towards each other. This is telling me that the yellow boy that lived in the slumps didnt have anything to wear. All because he didnt have anything to wear he barrowed his sisters yellow dress. Since the boy wore the yellow dress he was known to be the "yellow kid". I also think this picture is telling me that the truth and the lies are being combined with the yellow kid.
