Indonesia’s Rising Middle-Class and Affluent Consumers

Indonesia’s Rising Middle-Class and Affluent Consumers | My Customer Experience | Scoop.it

Indonesia’s economy is growing rapidly, and a large portion of the population is entering the middle-class and affluent consumer (MAC) socioeconomic category. As those in this group begin to ramp up their spending in key segments—such as home goods, vehicles, consumer durables, and financial services—this is a critical window of opportunity for companies that sell consumer goods.

Demographic trends show the size of the opportunity. There are currently about 74 million MACs in Indonesia, and this number will double by 2020, to roughly 141 million people. During that period, some 8 million to 9 million people will enter the middle class each year. Perhaps because of this rising economic tide, Indonesians are extremely optimistic about their financial futures—more so than people in any other country, including both emerging and developed markets. They expect to make more money next year than this year, and they believe that their children’s lives will be better than their own.

Garuda Indonesia rejoindra SkyTeam le 5 mars 2014

Garuda Indonesia rejoindra SkyTeam le 5 mars 2014 | My Customer Experience | Scoop.it

All year long I’ve collected striking facts, information and tidbits from all over the world in relation to social media. Obviously a lot more has been going on than what you’ll find in this overview but these are the stories that stayed with me somehow. I hope you’ll enjoy this little trip down memory lane.

37 Ways to Use Social Media to Market Your Website

37 Ways to Use Social Media to Market Your Website | My Customer Experience | Scoop.it

The key to every site’s success is through good marketing and promotion. Even if you have really good and substantial content on your site, you still need to promote it to avoid getting left behind the competition. In the internet community, the best way to achieve an increase in website traffic and revenue is to take advantage of social media. When used correctly, this tool can provide a platform for brand awareness, exposure, networking, and a huge boost in traffic & sales.

Since there are so many different definitions of social media, let’s clarify what we’re talking about here. Social media are primarily Internet- and mobile-based tools for sharing and discussing information. The term most often refers to activities that integrate technology, telecommunications and social interaction, and the construction of words, pictures, videos and audio. This interaction, and the manner in which information is presented, depends on the varied perspectives and "building" of shared meaning among communities, as people share their stories and experiences.

Marketing, Sales & The Missing Link

Marketing, Sales & The Missing Link | My Customer Experience | Scoop.it

Traditional marketing - at it’s best - generates ‘top-of-the-funnel’ leads while traditional sales - at it’s best - converts a small percentage of those leads into sales. While in the meantime, marketing blames sales for not delivering enough new business, and sales blames low customer conversion on the lack of quality support from marketing. So what’s the missing link?
