Each day our brains are bombarded by thousands and thousands of messages. These influence our day to day and moment to moment thinking. Discovering your true Self through the "No-Mind" | My Buddha Nature

Discovering your true Self through the "No-Mind" | My Buddha Nature | My Buddha Nature | Scoop.it
The title of this essay is actually a paradox, but then all of life is a paradox. The purpose is not to figure out why, but see the paradox in it's truth. To try to understand why is a pure waste of time. The term no-mind does not mean without mind.

Shutting down the mind | My Buddha Nature | My Buddha Nature | Scoop.it
When I refer to mind I am referring to the part of your mind that just tends to ramble on. The part that is always carrying on a conversation, or tormenting you in times of stress. Once this aspect of the mind can be controlled day to day living becomes much more enjoyable, and you can life in the moment, rather then the past.

An old Cherokee told his grandson, My son, there is a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment , inferiority, lies & ego. The other is Good. All things change, walk away.... | My Buddha Nature

All things change, walk away.... | My Buddha Nature | My Buddha Nature | Scoop.it
One of the hardest things for people to accept is change. Change is always viewed as being bad. But anything can be viewed as good or bad depending on how you look at it. My life is in for some change, and honestly from heart and soul I now welcome this. I am not sure if I believe in destiny or not, perhaps it is just the karma of of my silent thoughts and desires that bring me to where I am today. I honestly don't know.

Many years ago I knew a women who loved to sky dive. At a party she once told me of the thrill, the rush that happened each time she jumped. She asked me if I wanted to try it someday. Buddhist Theory of Emptiness and Quantum Mechanics | My Buddha Nature

Buddhist Theory of Emptiness and Quantum Mechanics | My Buddha Nature | My Buddha Nature | Scoop.it
In Buddhist tradition, the Theory of Emptiness states that all things or occurrences are dependent upon one another. That is everything is connected to everything else. Therefore if you cause harm to any living creature you also cause harm to your self. This is the basis or karma, cause and effect. Nothing in the universe is an independent entity. All religions teach this to a point, then they jump into teaching duality which isolates man from god and the universe. It also isolates man from man himself.

Because of what I do for a living people will often talk with me of their problems. It has been this way for 25 years and I ever mind helping someone see things in a different light. But you would be surprised at how often I will hear the same problems over and over again from different people. There really is nothing new under the sun.

I had a twitter message today from someone who told she that she prefers to be negative, a pessimist because then she is never disappointed. Well I can't say I agree with her statement but it does belong to her, where she is in this day. I think a better way to say it is it is better to have no expectations. This statement is the middle of the road.
