Shannon Fitzpatrick's insight:

This article is really interesting because it is talking about how some believe music is the key to success. I strongly believe that music is a really big part of being able have success. When you are around music and when you are able to understand I think you look at the world differently. I think people that are into music are much more creative and able to think out side the box. They can think logically and out side the box. That can helo you become a very successful person if you can put those two things together.

Is technology bad for us?

Is technology bad for us? | Music Technology | Scoop.it
We keep hearing about the trouble with the internet, but the answer can't simply be to switch off our computers – because life online is real life,... (Is technology bad for us?
Shannon Fitzpatrick's insight:

This article is really interesting because it is pressing a question that I am sure we have all thought about at least once. Is technology actaully "bad" for us? I believe there are some good things and a couple bad things about technology. We are currently living in the digital world and I think everyone needs to be aware of technology and how it wokrs. I think technology might be taking away the ability for humans to reacte normal around each other in person. I think we are losing our social skills because of facebook and twitter and any social network in general. That can be bad but it's becoming our future and I think we can work with it and try to improve some of the ways that our digital world is going.

One Direction Unveils Their New Album Art and Tracklist, Plus Childhood Pics! | Music Technology | Scoop.it
More intel about the album we've all been waiting for. (RT @TeenVogue: The boys of @OneDirection reveal their new album art and track list (plus the cutest childhood pics!
Shannon Fitzpatrick's insight:

I think that this is a reallt great thing that One Direction is doig. I don't really enjoy there music but I must give them credit for what they are doing here.

A pro would be that now there is a really great chance that a lot of screaming girls are going to want that album art. They will want to go buy it. They are also going to be making  a lot of money off of it. A con would be that you might get a lot of people just seeing the album art through the internet. You could have itunes just seeling the album art when you buy the album off itunes. Then that takes away a lot of sales from buying that actual album because of the art.

Shannon Fitzpatrick's insight:

This artical is pretty cool. I think it;s great that such talented people can be seen all around the world. Lets think about this, there are thousands of exterenly talented people in this world and if it was not for technology, we would never be able to find these around people. It's so awesome that we can just go on a social networking site and find talented people. People post their own work on social networking sites all the time to share with the world. This is truly aweosme that we are able to share these kinds of things.

Listening to favourite music can boost learning skills: Study

Listening to favourite music can boost learning skills: Study | Music Technology | Scoop.it
Helsinki: If you want to improve your learning skills, then just listen to your favourite music. The more we like a song, the more dopamine our brains transmit, a new study has found.

Shannon Fitzpatrick's insight:

This article is pretty interesting. I have heard about a lot of different studies that have been going on about how music can help you learn better. I think this is really cool because I completely agree. Music can make any learning situation more interesting and engaging. When you study and tie thoughs notes to music it can help you on the test. If you are singing that same song that you listened to when you were studying to when you are taking the test. It can trigger when you learned so you can do better on the test. I am a strong believer that music can help you learn better.
