Vinyl's making a comeback? Don't believe the hype

Vinyl's making a comeback? Don't believe the hype | Boom in Vinyl record sales | Scoop.it
Vinyl sales have passed a million for the first time since 1997 – but all that tells us is that record labels have realised there are people who want to shell out for deluxe editions
John Lotman's insight:

Lastly, this article published by 'The Guardian', provides insight as to why Vinyl sales have boosted. Rather than adding information from analytics or credible sources . The writer, Michael Hann, provides his personal personal insight and opinion to this topic. Although this article is somewhat biased: the writer discusses how saying 'Vinyl is coming back' is a gimmick from the record labels for people to just buy more vinyl. This article may not be the most credible, although I believe this may be the most honest of all the articles.

Vinyl records see 2nd-biggest sales week since '91

Vinyl records see 2nd-biggest sales week since '91 | Boom in Vinyl record sales | Scoop.it
NASHVILLE — Black Friday sales and special releases keyed the second-best sales week for vinyl records since the industry began tracking the data in 1991.
John Lotman's insight:

In this article by 'USA Today', writer Nate Rau discusses the sales of vinyl specifically on Black Friday. Nate Rau's sources for this article come from Nielson Music and a Nashville record store called 'The Groove'. This is a thorough read as the writer cites Nielson Music (a professional consumer study towards music) as well as talking to one record store as backing information. I believe this is some what of a credible source as the writer has done his research reaching out to both a music consumer studying company, as well as quotes from workers at 'The Groove' record store in Nashville, Tennessee.
