Hypermasher is a must-see experience. You shouldn't trust my words and you just should head to http://www.hypermasher.com/hyperlapse, click play and watch for yourself.

The clips come from Hyperlapse, the new Instagram tool which allows you to shoot short videos, perfectly stabilized and which you can speed up to your liking, mixed up with some nice chill out, ambient music from soundcloud.

The result is a wonderful kaleidoscope of everyday life moments spinning in a neverending sequence.

A beautiful audio-visual experience about who we are, what we like and what we like to remember.

It may be a great irony that our age of cultural destruction and—many would argue—decline also happens to be a golden age of preservation, thanks to the very new media and big data forces credited with dumbing things down.

Hilarious Ted Talks for the Classroom – Engaging and Effective Teaching

Hilarious Ted Talks for the Classroom – Engaging and Effective Teaching | Music & relax | Scoop.it
After years of testing out various talks in the classroom, I finally found a few that always go over well with my high school students. Of course, it has a lot to do with the talks being funny. Who doesn’t like to laugh? But there’s also a deeper meaning and positive message with each that resonates with the students. There is no particular order to this list. They each are awesome in their own right.

The beauty of what we'll never know

The beauty of what we'll never know | Music & relax | Scoop.it
Almost 30 years ago, Pico Iyer took a trip to Japan, fell in love with the country and moved there. A keen observer of the human spirit, Iyer professes that he now feels he knows far less about Japan -- or, indeed, about anything -- than he thought he knew three decades ago. In this lyrical meditation on wisdom, Iyer expands on this curious insight about knowledge gained with age: that the more we know, the more we see how little we know.

How to stay calm when you know you'll be stressed

How to stay calm when you know you'll be stressed | Music & relax | Scoop.it
You're not at your best when you're stressed. In fact, your brain has evolved over millennia to release cortisol in stressful situations, inhibiting rational, logical thinking but potentially helping you survive, say, being attacked by a lion. Neuroscientist Daniel Levitin thinks there's a way to avoid making critical mistakes in stressful situations, when your thinking becomes clouded -- the pre-mortem. "We all are going to fail now and then," he says. "The idea is to think ahead to what those failures might be."
