The Pirate Bay, the most notorious torrent site on the web. The founder of the site has had legal trouble, but surprisingly has stayed out of copyright infringement territory. He was arrested for fraud and hacking charges, not infringement.

Piracy monetization service Rightscorp has provided investors with details of its end game with cooperative ISPs.

This is an example of a step in the right direction for dealing with internet piracy. The company essentially monitors Torrent websites and finds when people download illegal content, and then connects them to the ISPs, and the ISP mails the alleged pirate with a settlement offer. It is essentially a warning to stop pirating, and it is very effective to people who receive that letter.

The Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit has arrested a 20-year-old man in Nottingham on suspicion of running a proxy server providing access to other sites subject to legal blocking orders.

The man was running a proxy server, which masks your IP so you can get access to blocked content and it also makes you unidentifiable to people who try and trace you via your IP address.

The NSA, the scary government overlord department that everyone has been absolutely freaking out about, was actually doing something right. They have been tracking pirates and proxy users, allegedly for many years.

Louie CK, a famous stand up comedian, makes a few remarks about internet piracy. Importantly, he says that piracy is necessary in certain aspects, because oftentimes content isn't available internationally. He uses Australia as an example, saying that everyone in Australia pirates content. Obviously an exaggeration, but the point is clear.
