Several new interesting music apps have seen the light since then and therefore I decided to create another more comprehensive list of some of the best iPad apps for teaching music to give music teachers more options to choose from."

MFLL : Art of Jazz

MFLL : Art of Jazz | Music News & Developments | Scoop.it

"Last Thursday (25/09/2014) at the Twickenham Jazz Club was more about the double act of tenor saxophonists Alex Garnett and Brandon Allen than anything else. Yes, they were capably supported, but this was a case of the duo employing the Zulu 'Horns of the Buffalo' offense to break our post-summer malaise to smithereens"

Alban Low

Ursula O'Reilly Traynor's curator insight, October 6, 2014 4:05 AM

I absolutely love Alban Low's sketches, especially those of jazz musicians at live gigs in and around London. His most recent jazz review is of an evening spent at his local jazz club in Twickenham. A recommended read. Do linger over his sketches. In a few swift pen manoeuvres, he manages to capture the essence of these performers. The musical instrument of choice is like an additional  and essential  body part. Individual characteristics are there within these sketches; passion and personality "seep through the ink" . And it all happens within a few brief moments in time.

Twickfolk Twickenham's curator insight, October 6, 2014 8:33 AM

Great to see Alban Low still sketching live music in Twickenham!

How to Use Pinterest Promoted Pins

How to Use Pinterest Promoted Pins | Music News & Developments | Scoop.it
Do you use Pinterest in your social media strategy? This article shares what promoted pins are, and how, when and why to use them.
Erik Retallick's insight:

Pinterest is often overlooked. The great thing about it is that it relies on visual stimuli and we live in more of a visual than literate society.

Allison Lloyd's curator insight, October 13, 2014 5:47 PM

The article “How to Use Pinterest Promoted Pins” by Cynthia Sanchez explains how to use this social media platform as part of your digital marketing strategy.

Pinterest’s “promoted pins” are the sites answer to advertising.  They target certain locations and demographics, putting your content closer to the eyes of the people you want to view it.

Unlike regular social media marketing, this type is not allowed to contain any call to actions.  It must simply link to an accurate, relevant website, and there must not be any immediate sign up prompts.

These pins can be a way to get in front of the eyes of new customers you want to target, especially those customers that you haven’t been able to reach with other types of marketing.  Pinterest provides an interactive way to reach their consumers, and provided an easy way for pinners to share these advertisements with their friends in a way that makes it feel like their own.
