Dear future generation,

Times are hard here in Louisiana just lost my car and any moment the cops will be here to force me out of my own house. Can’t say I blame em’ because I haven’t paid my mortgage in over 3 years. I become greatly depressed things jus haven’t been the way they were since nettie died of cancer 6 years ago. It wasn’t hard seeing her go but it was in gods will for to go. My kids are all gone I have 3 of them my oldest Michelle was only 14 years old when she had Nettie and mine’s first grandchild. It wasn’t much of her fault when it happened, it was that bastard of a boyfriend she’s got. She had a bright future ahead then his black ass shows up. I never liked that S.O.B even after he married her 2 years later. Now she’s barely makin it after that no good Negro left her a couple years back. Now she’s on her own raisin’ two babies fighting for her next meal.     Well enough about that story then my son Avery, he was a fine young boy for his age yes he was. He made me and his momma was very proud with his musical talents he gets it from his momma. I forgot to tell you boy I’m more and more forgetful every day I’m old what more can I say. Anyway my Nettie was a very popular pianist yes she was. Just hearing her sing and play just lifted me away. I still remember before the kids were born Nettie would get up in the mornin’ and play beautiful music as I woke up. I always loved the way she sang. Well back to Avery he learned how play when he was only eight years old could barely get his head over the keys! But he was playin the mess outa that thing I tell ya. Then he just lost the passion for it seeing me and his momma struggling, Nettie began getting sick right after Michelle ran off with that rotten husband of hers. Avery was only 16 at the time when the economy crashed and the banks began closing. Nettie was sick so she couldn’t sing anymore, my health was going downhill so I couldn’t even keep a job even if I wanted to. You would think for a man such as myself at the age of forty-three to have the health of a guy twice my age! I gotta take fifty-thousand pills every morning to keep from having a heart attack. Avery was so desperate to help us he started gang-bangin’ to bring us an extra buck. It ended up getting him killed in the end. He got caught in a gunfight with a rival gang coming on to their turf. He was simply just in the wrong place at the wrong time. The doctor said it was dang near impossible to survive a gunshot to the chest, a gunshot from AK-47. The doctor recovered three 5.56mm rounds in his chest cavity, one right aside his heart. I miss that boy and always will. And my youngest my baby girl Denise, she was the only one of my kids to have some since. I ain’t sayin she was perfect but she was close. She’s twenty-one now in college, found a guy that treats her right (unlike her sister), and I just news that she is six months pregnant (Which personally I think even at twenty-one but hey it’s better than fourteen.) in closing my children are doing well and shortly shall join my lovely wife in heaven.
