Ursula O'Reilly Traynor's insight:

I love the way folk music keeps reinventing itself.

Blair Dunlop is a good example of this,; urban and gritty, you can catch him live @ Cecil Sharp House on May 31, for the launch of his second album.

With support from Luke Jackson http://sco.lt/5IfluT ,, you get two young shining lights for the price of one:)

Monday's Song: M4ncave Sessions - Luke Jackson - Fare Thee Well

M4ncave Sessions - Luke Jackson - Fare Thee Well Become a fan of Luke Jackson on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lukepauljackson?fref=ts

Ursula O'Reilly Traynor's insight:

There's something about Luke that makes him stand out.

He's still incredibly young for a musician with such assurance, passion and professionalism. A seeker of perfection. Primarily a singer of his own material, this cover is a great fit for a voice already showing a mature suggestion of a great musical future. Not one to pigeonhole either.

Ursula O'Reilly Traynor's insight:

Friday is starting with a zing.

Dark and brooding, but in a good way.

Friday's Song - Mo Kenney – Sucker

Friday's Song - Mo Kenney – Sucker | Music for a London Life | Scoop.it

"To say the Rachel Sermanni-fronted Middle Of Nowhere Recordings is on a roll at the moment would be something of an understatement. After swoonworthy recent releases from Sermanni herself and Colin Macleod, the Highlands-based label now presents Candian singer-songwriter Mo Kenney."

Ursula O'Reilly Traynor's insight:

10/14

It's  early morning here in London Town.

Reacquainting ourselves with this wondrous Canadian folk singer.

Missed her well-received first London gig  @ Union Chapel earlier in the year :(

She came back to London this week for two more gigs and MFLL is miffed to have missed those too :(

Come back soon, Mo, you are loved in London :)

Our SongPick Of The Day? Oh yes! enjoy!
