There are still many situations in which cables have some advantages for control, as we saw in this week’s tutorial on iPad connections. But two separate crowd-funded projects are working on high-performance wireless solutions for music controllers.

Accessories like this seem like they would be very handy. If you travel a lot this seems like the better solution. No wires can be great but I feel like you would loose sound quality.

I feel that having wireless music equipment has some serious advantages and disadvantages. being wireless to mean i can take my studio absolutely anywhere I please and not have the hassle of having plugins and unorganized. The again coming with being wireless can come with serious delay in your recording. which can be very annoying.

New gear and equipment is being made every day. With the digital realm rapidly expanding, it's almost impossible to keep up. Somethings are designed for quality, but it seems that more often than not, this new equipment or gear is made to simplify. This is great but should we sacrifice quality for simplicity? If so where is the line drawn?

The good thing about simplifying new musical products is that they makes it possible for untrained people to use and experiment with the products. On the other hand if we lose out on quailty, we ruin potential greatness.

This is an interesting concept that I thinnk we are seeing more and more of. All in one apps are trying to take the place of physical objects (in this case effect pedals).  I personally would still perfer to have actual pedals.

Interesting suff... I don't own an Ipad but if I did I would deffinatly like to try some of this stuff out. This kind of show how Apple really kept their position at the top when it comes to music related stuff. They really blow other companies out of the water.

I like that Microsoft is expanding it's ideas. I think this dj one could be a cool transition into the music industry. Mainly apple products have ruled that realm but this is a good angle for Microsoft to take to get their foot in the door.
