Moodle 2.5 Course Reports Beginner Tutorial

Moodle 2.5 Course Reports Beginner Tutorial | Moodle | Scoop.it

Moodle course reports beginner tutorial. Course reports page can be a very powerful tracking tool in Moodle. It allows instructors to view course logs, user activity reports, and course statistics based on users, times, or activity modules.

An instructor might use reports to gauge how many students opened an article he or she wanted them to read before lecture. More importantly, it can show who did not open the article. The night before the lecture, however, you can send out an email to all the students that did not complete the reading to remind them. This feature is helpful because it will not email the students that have already completed the activity. You can also use reports to gauge when students are logging into your course the most. For instance, say Sunday always has twice as many views as Thursday. You might adjust the time you post material or require the completion of an assignment to better fit the activity of your students.

Moodle 2.6.2 and other minor releases are now available

Moodle 2.6.2 and other minor releases are now available | Moodle | Scoop.it

With each minor release of Moodle more cool features and enhancements make their way into Moodle core. This week Moodle 2.6.2, 2.5.5 and 2.4.9 were released at Moodle.org and are available for download. Each includes a number of improvements/bug fixes. The 2.4 branch has received it’s last improvement update and now will receive security fixes only.

2.6.2 includes a few cool new features and fixes:

- Auto saved responses in quiz attempts will be used when a quiz is submitted automatically (so the student’s work in a timed exam will get saved up to the latest save point/confirmation)

- Repository names for Microsoft, Box.net, and Google were updated to their new names

- Long course names are truncated in the navigation menu

- Link color in Clean theme is now WCAG compliant

Though there are many more. Check out the complete release notes for Moodle 2.6.2 at http://docs.moodle.org/dev/Moodle_2.6.2_release_notes
