Though similar on many accounts to the general public, Asian Americans have some distinct differences in their political ideologies.  A substantial number more than the public identify themselves as either Democrat or Unaffiliated alongside more liberal social policy such as abortion and Government programs.  They also form the majority of Hindu and Buddhist groups in the US and show a distinct difference from conservative ideologies.

(Among registered voters) If the presidential election were being held today and the candidates were (Barack Obama, the Democrat) and (Mitt Romney, the Republican), for whom would you vote?

Obama and Romney each have solid support from their own parties and are neck and neck among registered voters.  This seems to leave independents as the determining factor for this year's election.
