Make Presentations Different

Make Presentations Different | English digital Learning | Scoop.it

With SlideIdea, presentations are no longer a one-man show. SlideIdea gives presenters the tools to engage their audience through their audience’s smart phones, laptops, and tablets. Each SlideIdea presentation is provided a unique URL (i.e, www.sld.im/12345 ). Regardless of the location, an audience can simply input the URL into their internet browser and then immediately follow along with slides, participate in polls, ask questions, or even network.

Slideideia permite ainda importar (e melhorar) apresentações Powerpoint e ficheiros Pdf.

Não chega? Muito bem: com Slideideia pode ainda gravar as suas falas durante a apresentação. Excelente!

Otra forma de hacer presentaciones....

Melissa Marshall's curator insight, April 9, 2014 1:45 AM

This is an excellent idea for letting kids work through your presentations at their own pace. I wonder how it integrates with Keynote for importing existing work?

I am definitely going to have a play with this one.

Movenote is a cross platform app that allows you to combine presentations with speech. Working with Google apps, Android, iPads and more you can upload images, video, and documents and create a presentation where you also record your voice. This post includes a short video that explains the program and interviews with a number of teachers whom use this in their classrooms with students.

What, Exactly, Will Wearable Apps Do?

What, Exactly, Will Wearable Apps Do? | English digital Learning | Scoop.it
“Clever apps might persuade people that they need a wrist-worn computer.”The age of wearable computing is upon us. Forget the debate over how capable or fashionable the first devices are, how popular they may eventually become, or even whether we fully understand what we’re getting into with these devices . The big question is simply: what will they do? And the answer will have much to do with the apps that emerge.
Both hardware makers and software developers hope that wearables, like the smartphone, tablet, and television, will become a new platform for application development. The two most promising platforms are the headset and the smart watch. But while the only viable headset is Google’s still-in-beta Glass, smart watches and smart watch apps have arrived. These early smart watches may also help clarify what does and doesn’t work for software development in the broader emerging category of wearable technology.
Smart-watch makers also firmly believe that all wearable computing devices will get better. Samsung executives called the first model of the Galaxy Gear “a concept device,” and reports suggest that a new Galaxy Gear could appear as soon as next January’s Consumer Electronics Show.

A Must See Visual Featuring The 5 Levels of Student Engagement ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

A Must See Visual Featuring The 5 Levels of Student Engagement ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | English digital Learning | Scoop.it
"After posting about the "10 ways to get your students engaged" here is another good visual I learned about from Mindshift and which outlines different levels of engagement. As I have already argued elsewhere here in this blog, getting today's students deeply engaged (the first level of engagement below) in the learning experience taking place in class is not an easy task. Unless students see a direct relevance between what they are going to learn and how that information will help them them in their actual life , it becomes hard to hook and maintain their attention. Proponents of socio-cultural linguistics emphasize the importance of "context" in learning. Learning materials that are contextualized and tailored to speak to the immediate context of the learners are more likely to get students engaged and hence increase their rate of retention and comprehensibility."

7 Pillars Of Digital Leadership In Education - TeachThought

7 Pillars Of Digital Leadership In Education - TeachThought | English digital Learning | Scoop.it
"As schools change leadership must as well. With society becoming more and more reliant on technology it is incumbent upon leaders to harness the power of digital technologies in order to create school cultures that are transparent, relevant, meaningful, engaging, and inspiring. In order to set the stage for increasing achievement and to establish a greater sense of community pride for the work being done in our schools, we must begin to change the way we lead. To do this, leaders must understand the origins of fear and misconceptions that often surround the use of technology such as social media and mobile devices."
