Fight Matrix | Current MMA Rankings » Featherweight

Fight Matrix | Current MMA Rankings » Featherweight | MMA Fighters - Rankings for each weightclass | Scoop.it

The featherweight rankings are kind of puzzling to me. I agree with Aldo, the champ, at number one. After that I would have Korean Zombie at the 2 spot, Hioki at the 3, Dennis Siver at number 4 and Erik Koch at the number 5. How Koch got the title shot boggles my mind. I believe Korean Zombie is the next in line at Aldo.

I totally agree with the top 5 rankings here. Anderson has been on top of the rankings for quite a while now, but his rematch against Chael Sonnen could prove otherwise. Chael took the champ to 5 rounds beating him every single round, untill Anderson was able to lock up a triangle choke on Chael. Mark Munoz and Alan Belcher would be a great fight for the number one contender spot.

MMA Heavyweight Rankings | FIGHT! Magazine

MMA Heavyweight Rankings | FIGHT! Magazine | MMA Fighters - Rankings for each weightclass | Scoop.it

Fightmagazine has a very different ranking than my personal list.

My top 5 Heavyweight list goes:

1) Junior dos Santos

2) Cain Velasquez

3) Daniel Cormier

4) Josh Barnett

5) Fabricio Werdum

The reason I dont have Allistair Overeem listed is because of his failed drug tests. I also have Daniel Cormier rated higher than Josh Barnett is simply because of the fact that Daniel beat Josh in the Strikeforce heavyweight tournament. Cain is the consensus number one choice for the title shot against Junior. Unfortunatly for Daniel and Josh, they are going to have to compete in the UFC to be recognized as a heavyweight contender.

Welterweight Rankings: Martin Kampmann's Persistence Pays Off

Welterweight Rankings: Martin Kampmann's Persistence Pays Off | MMA Fighters - Rankings for each weightclass | Scoop.it

I think Martin should be ranked atleast a top 5 welterweight after his win against Jake Ellenberger. His strikes looked very impressive in the fight. I think the next opponent for Martin should be Johnny Hendricks for the number one contender spot.

I agree with this list but I would put Rory MacDonald above Jon Fitch.

Bantamweight - SB Nation Consensus MMA Rankings

Bantamweight - SB Nation Consensus MMA Rankings | MMA Fighters - Rankings for each weightclass | Scoop.it

I know this weightclass is still fairly new to the UFC, so with that said, two fighters are dominating this weight class. Cruz and Faber III was sopposed to happen bus Cruz had to pull out of the fight because of a knee injury. Now Renan Barao is slated to fight Faber in hopes of taking the interim title.

MMA Lightweight Rankings 155 lbs | FIGHT! Magazine | MMA Fighters - Rankings for each weightclass | Scoop.it

My favourtie weight class by far. There is so much talent in the lightweight division. Their top 5 rankings is right on point. Benson has his rematch with Frankie, Gilbert just beat Josh Tompson, and Nate and Anthony would be a perfect fight to determine the number 1 contender shot for the UFC Lightweight title. Gilbert cant be given that shot because hes in Strikeforce.

I agree with the most of articles top 5 Light heavyweight rankings. Although, I would put Alexander Gustafsson above Rashad Evans, because Rashad lost to Jon Jones. Even though Dan Henderson is next for the champ, we could possibly see Alexander in a number one contenders match in the soon future.

Scott Coker on Possibility of Rousey vs. Cyborg, Cormier vs. Fedor, and Melendez vs. Alvarez | MMA Fighters - Rankings for each weightclass | Scoop.it

This video contains an exciting thought of rankings in MMA. We have Rousey against Cyborg who is generally thought of the best womens MMA fighter. We also have Cormier and Fedor...which is just mind blowing. After Winning the Strikeforce Heavyweight Tournament, Cormier is to be considered a top 5 heavyweight in all of MMA. Fedor is considered to be the best MMA fighter of ALL time.

Neo's Top 10 MMA Pound-for-Pound list.

Neo's Top 10 MMA Pound-for-Pound list. | MMA Fighters - Rankings for each weightclass | Scoop.it

1. Anderson "The Spider" Silva (31-4) - Middlewight Champion, UFC

Anderson has DOMINATED and cleaned out the UFC middleweight division for about 6 years now.  There is not so much competition left in the division aside from the man who ALMOST took the title from him, Chael Sonnen. The most anticipated grudge match is slated in July. If he retains his middleweight title, we can only assume he moves up to Light Heavyweight to challenge Jon Jones for his title.

2. Jon "Bones" Jones (16-1) - Light Heavyweight Champion, UFC

Jon Jones is the youngest champion in UFC history. He cleaned out a very talented divison so quickly. He defended his title against 4 former champions and is slated to fight a very dangerous opponent in Dan Henderson.

3. George "Rush" St-Pierre (22-2) - Welterweight, UFC

GSP is standing on top of the Welterweight divison. An unexpected injury caused the former champ to give up his title. Carlos Condit was able to defeat Nick Diaz to become the interm champ and is now planning to wait for GSP to return to defend the interm title.

4. Jose Aldo (21-1) - Featherweight Champion, UFC

Aldo is still a very dangerous opponent in the Featherweight divison. His vicious Muay Thai striking is something you don't ever want to cross. Just ask Chad Mendes how he felt after taking a couple of knees to the head from Aldo. Aldo's next opponent is Erick Koch at UFC 149.

5. Gilbert "El-Nino" Melendez (21-2) - Lightweight Champion, Strikeforce

Melendez cleaned out the Strikeforce lightweight division.  With that said, the competition in Strikeforce is not the same as UFC competition. Melendez is simply waiting for a call from the UFC for an elite fighter at lightweight.

6. Dominick "The Dominator" Cruz (19-1) - Bantamweight Champion, UFC

Cruz is one of the best young fighters in the sport of MMA. He only has on loss but avenged it against Urijah Faber. The two were slated to fight again for the third time, but the champ puled out because of a knee injury.

7. Junior dos Santos (15-1) Heavyweight Champion, - UFC

How can someone hate this guy? His personality out of the ocatgon is very joyful, welcoming and heartfelt. BUT, when hes in the cage, prepare for a beatdown. He recently defended his belt this past weekend against Frank Mir. Junior called for a second round knock out and delivered along with a very estatic post fight speech!

8. Dan "Hendo" Henderson (29-8) Light Heavyweight, - UFC

Hendo is coming off his LEGENDARY fight against Shogun Rua. That war went on for 5 rounds with Hendo coming out with the decision victory. He earned the number one contender spot to fight for Jon Jones' LHW belt.

9. Benson "Smooth" Henderson (16-2) - Lightweight Champion, UFC

Benson was able to take the belt from Frankie Edgar through a decision victory in Japan. Since he got to the UFC, hes been 5-0 and is now ready to defend his title in a rematch against Edgar.

10. Carlos "The Natural Born Killer" Condit (28-5) - Welterweight Interm Champion, UFC

Carlos was able to earn the interm championship when he defeted Nick Diaz by decision. He stated that he will wait for GSP to heal for their title fight.

Honorable Mentions: Cain Velasquez, Chael Sonnen, Nate Diaz, Frankie Edgar, Rashad Evans
