How often do you sit down for a meal and only focus on the food you are eating? TV, computer, reading, etc. while eating distracts from the experience of enjoying the food -- its flavor, texture, aroma and the nutritive value it provides the body.  Have you ever eaten an entire meal or bag or box of something and realized your do not remember eating it? It happens to me all the time. Are we just too busy to focus on the food we are consuming or it is something else? Perhaps the quiet and stillness or loneliness that we cannot bear.

Having suffered from panic and anxiety attacks since high school, just imagining having an attack on such a grand scale is stomach turning to say the least. Mindfulness and meditation along with diet and exercise have been easing the frequency and magnitude of episodes to a point where the seemingly impossible has become not only possible but doable. It is a liberating experience.
