Mindfulness is the act of being intensely aware of what you're sensing and feeling at every moment without interpretation or judgment. Mindfulness practice activates and builds up the part of the brain responsible for emotional control and decision making, enabling people to ‘respond’ rather than ‘react’ to situations.

Practicing mindfulness exercises can have many possible benefits, including reduced stress, anxiety and depression, less negative thinking and distraction, and improved mood.

Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) session demonstrates significantly improved mindfulness and awareness, reduced stress, reduced fasting blood-sugar levels, and reduced in triglyceride levels. MBSR also is the most important mindfulness interventions which can meaningfully impact on stress and associated obesity, potentially decrease cortisol and catecholamine levels. Consequently, MBSR succeed in reducing eating patterns, helping patients improve self-control and lose weight.

Mindfulness offers a path to well-being and tools for coping with life's inevitable hurdles. Mindfulness may sound exotic, but we can cultivate it and reap its proven benefits without special training or lots of spare time.There is a bunch of examples that helps us to be more mindful including mindful walking (whenever we walk, we are aware of how our body feels and what we see), mindful eating (we eat a meal without any electronics, television, or distractions; we watch our breathing and posture as we eat; we sit comfortably; we take smaller bites and chew food more), and kill judgement ( we should limit judgment on our thoughts because sitting in judgmental thoughts invites low energy, grouchy attitudes and impatience, and being more accepting reduces negative thoughts).
