Although this magazine is not focused only on health issues, I find that when my students are needing current events there are often health related articles that are well written and informative.  Although the magazine does cost money, educators receive a steep discount making a subscription financially workable.

Although the main focus is current events, I often find articles that are high quality that address current issues surrounding health and fitness.  The subscription can be costly, but occasionally articles can be accessed online for preview purposes.

The Awesome Library organizes 37,000 carefully reviewed K-12 education resources, the top 5 percent for teachers, students, parents, and librarians. It includes a search engine.

 

These plans are specifically designed for teaching health and fitness.  There are lessons for all subjects on this site, but this page is dedicated to health and PE.  Some of these lessons are great and some would need to be improved on before I used them.

Great website for girls with lots of information.  Also contains a link to parent and teacher resources.  As with most health related web pages, there are some topics that may be sensitive.  Parents and teachers should use caution and screen any articles before referring them to kids.  Some parents may find some of the material too mature for their middle school aged girls.
