By Jose Lambiet

Miami Heat President Pat Riley has settled into his new $11.75-million penthouse high above Miami Beach!

Riley sold his Coral Gables mansion earlier this year for $16.75 million.

And Miami-Dade County documents show the 67-year-old Riley recently homesteaded the 6,200-square-foot penthouse at the Apogee building.

That’s a super-duper-hyper-luxurious 22-floor building on the southern tip of the island!

When LeBron James learned he was Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year, the Miami Heat star was surprised.

Apparently, that's no longer the case. The magazine announced its annual choice Monday, with James becoming the first NBA player to win the award since Heat teammate Dwyane Wade in 2006...

Yes, Miami, We have a Bikini Basketball Team

Yes, Miami, We have a Bikini Basketball Team | Miami Heat Basketball | Scoop.it

The Miami Heat are not moving.

That’s the good news.

But we’re getting a new pro basketball team...

They’re a tough and gritty squad. A real bunch of scrappers. John Wooden would have loved them.

Also, they play all their games dressed in barely there bathing suits.

Meet the Miami Spice of the Bikini Basketball League, a flagship franchise in the country’s only two-piece-required basketball association, hosting tryouts this Saturday.

Okay, so this is sort of like the Lingerie Football League, except instead of playing football, these women are playing basketball. And instead of wearing lacy things, well, they’re partially covered up in the sort of swimsuits one might classify as small. Small and unsupportive.

Now, the inaugural season doesn’t tip-off until 2013. But they’ve already started recruiting/collecting headshots for teams in key cities. Think: New York, Chicago, Des Moines (okay, maybe don’t think Des Moines). And this Saturday, our hometown Spice will be holding live tryouts. Seems like something of historical significance. You should probably attend.

And while you’re there, maybe have a hot dog. And a cold one. And find out about how to purchase a season ticket plan.

Or, you know, apply for the head coaching position.

Osama's Translator, Locked Up in Gitmo, Says LeBron James Is a "Very Bad Man" and "Should Apologize to Cleveland"

Osama's Translator, Locked Up in Gitmo, Says LeBron James Is a "Very Bad Man" and "Should Apologize to Cleveland" | Miami Heat Basketball | Scoop.it

Via Miami New Times:

Most of the world has moved on from LeBron James' decision to leave Cleveland and play for the Miami Heat, but at least one man is still mad about it. The lawyer for Muhammad Rahim, an Al-Qaeda member who served as a translator for Osama bin Laden and who is currently being held in Guantanamo Bay, has released some letters he's received from his client. In one of them, he takes LeBron James to task.

Carlos Warner, Rahim's lawyer, recently shared the note with The Washington Post.

"Dear Mr. Warner!" the Al Qaeda member wrote. "Lebron James is very bad man. He should apologise to the city of Cleveland."

Warner says that his LeBron-hate stems from Rahim's tribal values which place faith on loyalty and his views that "betrayals are not tolerated or forgiven, although an honest apology from an offending peer is valued."

Or perhaps Rahim is just a savvy client trying to get on his lawyer's good side. Warner, like James, is a native of Akron, Ohio...
