Meriam Ibrahim a Sudanian woman who had a death sentence for renouncing Islam has been released from jail again. She was detained at Khartoum airport on Tuesday and charged for falsifying ID documents. She was stopped from departing from Sudan alone with her husband and two children and held in the police station in the capital city. First time Meriam Ibrahim was sentenced to hang in May for apostasy of Islam by marrying the Christian man it all sparked outcry in Sudan and around the world.Born to a Muslim father, she was brought up as an Orthodox Christian, but by Islamic law remains Muslim as it was her father's religion.

 

The majority of population of Sudan is Muslim and Islamic law has been implemented in the country since 1980s. She was released on 23 June first time when the appeal court lifted her death penalty. But the condition was that she remains in the country and wouldn't leave Sudan. Her lawyer, Muhannad Mustafa, said "Meriam was released after guarantor was found, but of course she wouldn't be able to leave the country".

 

The second time she has been charged with forgery of travel document which were South Sudanese she was crying and accused of providing false information. South Sudan embassy claims that emergency travel documents were genuine. The Sudanese official argued that she should have used a Sudanese passport.

 

The ministry criticized South Sudan for issuing travel documents to Meriam despite their knowledge she was Sudanese nation and condemned the United States of helping woman to leave Sudan with false travel document.
