Schnader Harrison: Nancy Winkelman runs Schnader Harrison’s Segal Institute for Appellate Advocacy, which was featured yesterday in the Philadelphia Inquirer (HT: How Appealing). The firm has set up a consulting business aimed at advising outside lawyers on how to improve their briefs and appeals-court arguments.

 

The “institute,” a wholly-owned subsidiary of Schnader, is named after the late Bernard Segal, a former Schnader partner and appellate specialist. It has an impressive advisory board, which the firm says will participate in moot courts and other consultations. Board members include Kenneth Starr of Kirkland & Ellis and William Webster of Milbank Tweed.

Phila. retailing is dressing up - The Philadelphia Inquirer

It's not only Center City that has seen an influx of upscale designers. A major remerchandising push at the King of Prussia mall has added more oomph to the fashion cachet of the stores there, too.

 

Over the last year, once only-in-New York stores such as punky designer Betsey Johnson, jeweler David Yurman, menswear store Boss Orange and shirtmaker Thomas Pink have set up shop at King of Prussia. Juicy Couture, the company known for its $100-plus track suits, will open a 3,304-square-foot store there later this year, said Mark Bachus, the mall's marketing manager.

Knee-deep in the 1,500-square-foot bog with a ton of glistening berries were real growers, including Irene Sorenson, and affable actors Justin Hagan and Henry Strozier, who play growers in Ocean Spray ads.
