Sentencing juvenile criminals to life in prison without parole is "cruel and unusual" punishment, especially when their crime is not murder, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Monday.
Max's insight:

Giving a minor a life sentence is cruel and unusual. "The justices, by a 6-3 vote, found such a sentence for a 16-year-old armed robber from Florida was unconstitutional." Its unfair for a minor to have a life sentence without even being charged for murder.

The FBI arrested 16 sheriff's deputies because they were beating prisoners.  The deputies who were charged had to be relieved of duty and got their pay suspended. The beating of inmates in a prison is iligal doe to the eighth amendment it is found to be cruel and unusual to beat inmates .

Keith Hughes explained the eighth amendment so dummies could understand. He explained that the punishment has to be straightforward, the person has to be aware of the punishment being given to them. If the punishment humiliates them it is considered cruel and unusual.

According to the U.S. Constitution the eighth amendment states "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted". By law the punishment given has to fit the crime committed. All jurisdictions found cruel and unusual will be overturned by law of the constitution.

Patrick avoided getting the death penalty due to the eighth amendment. The suprem court abolished his death sentence because executing a child rapest is found cruel and unusual. Instead i got life in prison because a minor can not be sentenced to the death penalty.

Excessive bail shall not be required. It's the Constitution. the Eighth Amendment to be exact.

This video shows an example of excessive bail. They made the guys bail a lot higher than it needed to be. The people who were charged with aggressive assault had a lower bail than the guy accused of tax evasion.

James Wilson “A nation [that tolerates] cruel punishments becomes dastardly and contemptible. For in nations, as well as individuals, cruelty is always attended by cowardice.” Cruel and unusual punishment is for the soft. Only cowards use such Unorthodox ways of justice.
