"WHEN THE SPIDER WEBS UNITE, THEY CAN TIE UP A LION" - Ethiopian proverb

Welcome to the site "Match Fixing & Corruption in Sport - The Spider's Web. I believe that these issues => Match Fixing + Corruption along with Doping in Sport are all inextricably linked just like the silken threads of the Spider's Web. No matter how faint the connections may seem they need to be explored to see where they lead us.

I also curate 2 companion sites: "Doping In Sport - A Jamaican Insider's Perspective" http://www.scoop.it/t/doping-in-sport-by-renee-anne-shirley with a view towards providing viewers with a steady stream of breaking news and current issues globally re doping in sport.

And "Human Diversity in Sport: An inalienable right for all" http://www.scoop.it/t/human-diversity-in-sport-an-inalienable-right-for-all

which seeks to promote acceptance and inclusion, and identify barriers that inhibit participation by all persons in the sport of their choice, specifically issues related to sex, gender and human rights.

So please join me on this journey.

Feedback is always welcomed.

The anti-match-fixing organisation, which has over 400 members, found ‘almost total passivity within sport institutions’ to reports of suspicious games. It said that sporting federations failed to keep Federbet informed about the progress of any investigations, however alleged the Croatian volleyball federation (HOS) had asked it for €5,000 to help investigate Federet’s information on fixed Croatian volleyball games.

IOC president has sports, personal links to Russia

IOC president has sports, personal links to Russia | Match Fixing & Corruption in Sport - The Spider's Web | Scoop.it

MOSCOW (AP) — The International Olympic Committee is weighing up whether to ban Russia from next month's games in Rio de Janeiro after revelations of a massive doping cover-up, but relations between the two were once much sunnier.
